B'resheet 43:27-30 Then he asked them about their welfare, and said, "Is your old father well, of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?" And they said, "Your servant our father is well; he is still alive." And they bowed down in homage. As he lifted his eyes and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, he said, "Is this your youngest brother, of whom you spoke to me?" And he said, "May G-d be gracious to you, my son." And Yosef hurried out for he was deeply stirred over his brother, and he sought a place to weep; and he entered his chamber and wept there.
It is not hard to understand Yosef being overcome with emotion. Imagine 22 years passing before seeing a loved one again.
In contrast, Israel will weep over their older half-brother and Messiah Yeshua.
Zech 12:10-14 "And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, the Spirit of grace and of supplication...and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the bitter weeping over a first-born. "In that day there will be great mourning in Yerushalayim, like the mourning of Hadad-Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. "And the land will mourn, every family by itself; the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the Shim'i by itself, and their wives by themselves; all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves.
B'resheet 43:31-34 Then he washed his face, and came out; and he controlled himself and said, "Serve the meal." So they served him by himself, and them by themselves, and the Egyptians, who ate with him, by themselves; because the Egyptians could not eat bread with the Hebrews, for that is loathsome to the Egyptians. Now they were seated before him, the first-born according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth, and the men looked at one another in astonishment. And he took portions to them from his own table; but Benjamin's portion was five times as much as any of theirs. So they feasted and drank freely with him.
They were startled because they did not understand how Yosef knew their birth order. They probably wondered about why he used the name of their G-d. Yosef did not eat with the Egyptians. In contrast, In the future and during the Millennium the Egyptians must come to feast or there will be no rain for them as mentioned above. (Zech. 14:16-21)
The people in the Tanakh will be guests in the city above to see the marriage supper of the lamb (Messiah) with the church/synagogue. (Believers)
Matt 26:29 "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."
Was Benjamin given five times the others to test for jealousy or hatred? Or was Yosef just glad to see him!? Or both?
