Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 12 (Continued)

Yechezk'el 12:11 Say to them, `I am a sign to you.' "As I have done, so it will be done to them. They will go into exile as captives. "The prince among them will put his things on his shoulder at dusk and leave, and a hole will be dug in the wall for him to go through. He will cover his face so that he cannot see the land. I will spread my net for him, and he will be caught in my snare; I will bring him to Bavel Babylonia, the land of the Kasdim (Chaldeans), but he will not see it, and there he will die. I will scatter to the winds all those around him-his staff and all his troops-and I will pursue them with drawn sword.

How can he go to Bavel (Babylon) and not see it?

Sometimes we think the Bible contradicts itself. We just don't always know the whole story. He did not see it because they had put his eyes out.

M'Lakhim Bet (2 Kings) 25:1-7 Now it came about in the ninth year of his reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of (Bavel (Babylon)) came, he and all his army, against Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), camped against it, and built a siege wall all around it. So the city was under siege until the eleventh year of King Tzidkiyahu (Zedekiah). On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land. Then the city was broken into, and all the men of war fled by night by way of the gate between the two walls beside the king's garden, though the Kasdim (Chaldeans) were all around the city. And they went by way of the Arabah. But the army of the Kasdim (Chaldeans) pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho and all his army was scattered from him. Then they captured the king and brought him to the king of Bavel (Babylon) at Rivlah, and he passed sentence on him. And they slaughtered the sons of Tzidkiyahu (Zedekiah) before his eyes, then put out the eyes of Tzidkiyahu (Zedekiah) and bound him with bronze fetters and brought him to Bavel (Babylon).

Yechezk'el 12:15-16 "They will know that I am the L-RD, when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them through the countries. But I will spare a few of them from the sword, famine and plague, so that in the nations where they go they may acknowledge all their detestable practices. Then they will know that I am the L-RD."

There was also a scattering of the people after 70 A.D.

Yechezk'el 12:17-23 The word of the L-RD came to me: "Son of man, tremble as you eat your food, and shudder in fear as you drink your water. Say to the people of the land: `This is what the Sovereign L-RD says about those living in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) and in the land of Israel: They will eat their food in anxiety and drink their water in despair, for their land will be stripped of everything in it because of the violence of all who live there. The inhabited towns will be laid waste and the land will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the L-RD.'" The word of the L-RD came to me: "Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: `The days go by and every vision comes to nothing'? Say to them, `This is what the Sovereign L-RD says: I am going to put an end to this proverb, and they will no longer quote it in Israel.' Say to them, `The days are near when every vision will be fulfilled.

What a vision fulfilled here at the time of Yeshua HaMashiach being buried in the tomb inside a wall!

Yechezk'el 12:24-27 For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations among the people of Israel. But I the L-RD will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious house, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign L-RD.'" The word of the L-RD came to me: "Son of man, the house of Israel is saying, `The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.'

It is a common thing in scripture to have a short-term prophecy and then backed by a long-term prophecy.

They, like many, did not believe Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) or they thought the prophecy was to far in the future to worry about.

Today when we talk about the return of Yeshua, many say you have been declaring this for a long time and it has not happened. His Word will be done. He wants none to perish. His is long suffering.

Yechezk'el 12:28 "Therefore say to them, `This is what the Sovereign L-RD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign L-RD.'"

The government will be on the Messiah's shoulders. All things will be placed under Yeshua's feet. It will also be fulfilled.

Hebrews 2:5-11 For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels. But one testified in a certain place, saying: "What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. But we see Yeshua, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the mercy of G-d, might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers.

He will return.

Tehillim (Psalms) 110 The L-RD says to my L-rd: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet." The L-RD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies. Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth. The L-RD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." The L-rd is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath. He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth. He will drink from a brook beside the way; therefore he will lift up his head.

We now know this to be true.
