Sh'mot (Exodus) Chapter 37 (Continued)

Sh'mot 37:17 Then he made the lampstand of pure gold. He made the lampstand of hammered work, its base and its shaft; its cups, its bulbs and its flowers were of one piece with it. And there were six branches going out of its sides; three branches of the lampstand from the one side of it, and three branches of the lampstand from the other side of it; three cups shaped like almond blossoms, a bulb and a flower in one branch, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms, a bulb and a flower in the other branch-- so for the six branches going out of the lampstand. And in the lampstand there were four cups shaped like almond blossoms, its bulbs and its flowers; and a bulb was under the first pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the second pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the third pair of branches coming out of it, for the six branches coming out of the lampstand. Their bulbs and their branches were of one piece with it; the whole of it was a single hammered work of pure gold. And he made its seven lamps with its snuffers and its trays of pure gold. He made it and all its utensils from a talent of pure gold.

The almonds represent fruitfulness and who brings light to the world.

Yochanan (John) 15:5 I am the vine, you are branches, he who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit.

Yochanan (John) 8:12 Again Yeshua spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Yochanan (John) 9:5 "While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

Yeshua was this light. We are not the light but bring testimony of the light.

Yochanan (John) 1:1-8 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with G-d, and the Word was G-d. He was in the beginning with G-d. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There came a man, sent from G-d, whose name was John. He came for a witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came that he might bear witness of the light.

We are to be a light that is to shine before men.

Mattityahu (Matthew) 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. "Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Sh'mot 37:25-29 Then he made the altar of incense of acacia wood: a cubit long and a cubit wide, square, and two cubits high; its horns were of one piece with it. And he overlaid it with pure gold, its top and its sides all around, and its horns; and he made a gold molding for it all around. And he made two golden rings for it under its molding, on its two sides-- on opposite sides-- as holders for poles with which to carry it. And he made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold. And he made the holy anointing oil and the pure, fragrant incense of spices, the work of a perfumer.

The incense represented the prayers that would reach the Holy of Holies above. Yeshua also prayed for us and still prays for us above. He is also mentioned below:

Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) 1:22-25 Now over the heads of the living beings there was something like an expanse, like the awesome gleam of crystal, extended over their heads. And under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward the other; each one also had two wings covering their bodies on the one side and on the other. I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of abundant waters as they went, like the voice of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army camp; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings. And there came a voice from above the expanse that was over their heads; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings.

Sh'mot 37:26 Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.

Who is above the angels in heaven that the mercy seat on earth illustrates? Yeshua HaMashiach, the Son of Man. The Son of man is also mentioned as in the clouds in Daniel 7:13. Yeshua is also called the Son of man in Brit Hadashah.

Daniel 7:13 "I kept looking in the night visions, and look, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. "And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one, which will not be destroyed.

Sh'mot 37:27 Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something like GLOWING METAL that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him.

We see this further illustrated in:

Revelation 1:5-15 To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood, and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His G-d and Father; to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Look, He is coming with the CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen. ..."I am the Alph and the Tahv," says the L-rd G-d, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." And I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands; and in the middle of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His breast with a GOLDEN GIRDLE. And His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire; and His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been caused to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.
