Sh'mot 33:17-23 And the L-RD said to Moshe, "I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight, and I have known you by name." Then Moshe said, "I pray to you, show me your glory!" And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the L-RD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion." But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!" Then the L-RD said, "Look, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock; and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen."
Here we see Moshe is in a cleft of a rock because He cannot look upon the glory of G-d without dying. He wanted to see and have closer fellowship with HaShem. The L-rd in His mercy allows Moshe to see Him without dying. The L-rd then turned His back on Moshe and put him in the cleft of the rock (just like a tomb in the rock) so Moshe does not die from viewing the glory of G-d. . In the future, we have the Messiah in His glory on the execution stake were the Father cannot look on the Son for the first time because our sins are placed upon Him. He was an ugly spectacle: naked and despised by all. It was for this purpose He came, to please the Father. He had to turn His back on His own Son. In contrast, Yeshua is later placed in the cleft of a rock and faced death so you and I will one day see His glory ourselves without fear of death. The Father's name is then glorified. The Son is lifted up to draw all men to Himself.
Luke 23:50-56 Now look, there was a man named Yosef, a council member, a good and just man. He had not consented to their decision and deed. He was from Ramatayim (Arimathea), a city of the Jews, who himself was also waiting for the kingdom of G-d. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Yeshua. Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock (just like a clef in the rock), where no one had ever lain before. That day was the Preparation, and the Shabbat drew near. And the women who had come with Him from Galil (Galilee) followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Shabbat according to the commandment.
John 12:23-36 Yeshua replied, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. "Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? `Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again." The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him. Yeshua said, "This voice was for your benefit, not mine. Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die. The crowd spoke up, "We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, `The Son of Man must be lifted up'? Who is this `Son of Man'?" Then Yeshua told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light."
1 Kefa (Peter) 4:11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of G-d. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength G-d provides, so that in all things G-d may be praised through Yeshua HaMashiach. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
2 Kefa (Peter) 3:14-18 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and account that the longsuffering of our L-rd is salvation--as also our beloved brother Saul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our L-rd and Messiah Yeshua HaMashiach. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
If you twist the truth you take the glory away from the Father as well. You will do this to your own destruction.
