Sh'mot 17:12-13 But Moses' hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aharon and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set. So Y'hoshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
HaShem only allowed victory when Moshe hands where outstretched like His Son on the execution stake. Isn't this a wonderful foreshadowing of our victorious Messiah, our Savior?
Talk about walking the walk of the Messiah.
Who else was victorious while holding out his arms? It is another wonderful foreshadowing. Shimshon (Samson).
Shimshon (Samson) also became victorious in his death while spreading out his arms attached to two pillars. Yeshua is victorious in Hs death (His human nature) while spreading His arms out on the execution stake. Praise His Name.
Sh'mot 17:14-16 Then the L-RD said to Moshe, "Write this in a book as a memorial, and recite it to Y'hoshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven." And Moshe built an altar, and named it Adonai Nissi (The L-RD is My Banner); and he said, "The L-RD has sworn; the L-RD will have war against Amalek from generation to generation." NAS
Write this in a book - here we see that HaShem instructed Moshe to record the events of the battle for future generations to read. Praise Yeshua the Lamb! If we trust in Yeshua our names are forever listed in the Lamb's book of life.
Revelation 21:22-27And I saw no temple in it, for the L-rd G-d, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of G-d has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. And the nations shall walk by its light, and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it. And in the daytime (for there shall be no night there) its gates shall never be closed; and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; and nothing unclean and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. NAS
From generation to generation HaShem enabled the Israelites to be victorious over Amalek. From generation to generation Yeshua is victorious in our lives against HaSatan.
I will utterly blot out the memory - Yeshua will throw HaSatan into the sheol for a thousand years. Later HaSatan will be let loose again for a short period of time. After this we will not remember him anymore, just like Amalek is not remembered.
Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he should not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time. NAS
Revelation 20:7-10 And when the thousand years are completed, Ha Satan will be released from his prison, and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
And then isn't it wonderful, all nations will walk by the light of the Lamb.
Revelation 5:12 "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."
