Sh'mot 13:19 And Moshe took the bones of Yosef with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, "G-d shall surely take care of you; and you shall carry my bones from here with you."

The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night would lead them. (Shekinah glory)
Who is described as fire?
Mattityahu (Matthew) 3:11-12 As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) and fire. "And His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." NAS
Nechemyah (Nehemiah) 9:19-20 The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go. "And You did give your good Spirit to instruct them,
In the future, HaShem used a cloud for cover too.
Luke 9:33-35 And it came about, as these were parting from Him, Kefa (Peter) said to Yeshua (Jesus), "Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, and one for Moshe, and one for Eliyahu (Elijah)"-- not realizing what he was saying. And while he was saying this, a cloud formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
