| Touya and Yukito |
| Here is one of my favorite couples of CCS... Touya and Yukito. I used to hate yaoi(Well, if you saw that bed scene with Goku and Vegeta...!!!), but Touya and Yukito completely changed my thoughts. First of all, Yukito is not a human, so this is not an official yaoi. Another thing is that their relationship is so sweet and pure(um... let us not discuss some of those Hiro + Duo doujinshi..) that it can't be helped that I changed my view of yaoi from "eww" to "aww". Well, here goes. Touya lost his mother when he was only 10. This was pretty big shock for him, but he had to remain strong. He didn't have time to pity himself and mop around because he had his little sister to reassure and take care of. Touya, who was never good at expressing his emotions, completely shut down his emotions after his mother's death. He was afraid of getting hurt further if he allowed himself to be controlled by emotions. He was also a sort of "freak", as he was able to see ghosts and sense magic. He was different from everyone. He knew that. For such a young person, all these must have been pretty hard. Even if he wanted to have fun with his friends, he wouldn't have been able to. He had to take care of his little sister(she was only 3 at the time) and act as a mature, grown-up person, because his father was away most of the time. Thus Touya became sort of a "lone wolf". Then he met Mizuki. He was pretty happy with her, and allowed his emotions to be loose. Then she dumped him. This crushing blow was enough to knock out any desire for other humans' companionship in his heart. He constantly frowned and never hung out with other kids of his age. His only comfort was his little "kaijyuu", who was growing up to be a sweet child. He worked, and I suppose money is not the only issue. He probably wanted to take his mind off things. Being a kind person, he didn't blame the society for making him a loner. He didn't become bitter and acidic. He just became expressionless. In Freshman year of high school, Touya met Yukito. From the moment he saw him, he knew he wasn't a human. Here was someone who was even lonelier than himself, someone who couldn't adjust himself to the society at all. Despite his excellent ability to play well in sports, Yukito was pale and always fragile-looking. Touya decided he'd like to protect him. As their friendship grew deeper, so did their affection for each other. They realized that they couldn't be apart from each other, because they learned that each other was their source of strength. They depended on each other for companionship they so lacked and they vented out their kindness on each other. Touya still didn't express his emotions, despite the fact that he came to know and care about Yukito so much. The exprience with Mizuki was still too fresh in his mind. His wound haven't closed up completely yet, and he didn't want to get hurt again. He thought he had more than enough time to let Yukito know about his emotions. This was not to be. Yukito started to disappear. Touya bore all the pain in his heart, silently supporting Yukito by his side as his fragile friend grew weaker and weaker every day. But he finally faced a decision-- will he give up Yukito or his mother? He decided to give up seeing his mother. He gave up something that is most precious to him. They finally understood and expressed their emotions..... And their gentle love will last. |
