Check out my new site: ScholarScribe.

This was taken on a hike through the countryside just outside of London. Charlotte, Richard, and me are emerging from a thicket of brambles that was supposed to be the trail.

Pete (nicknamed "The Muppet") brought sunglasses on our day hike. This is highly unusual behavior for a Brit since the sun rarely shines here. Pete and I are trying to look cool in this picture... I want to stress the word "trying".

My water polo buddies Beatrice and Richard are making an attempt to walk over to the side of the boat in gale force winds on the Dublin Ferry. A potentially very dangerous and silly thing to do.

As dangerous as walking to the edge of the boat was, it looked like a lot of fun. Thus I had to give it a shot. In this picture the wind kicked up enough to slam me against the fence. Um, can we say natural selection???

Richard, Dorothy, Beatrice, Kenny (all water polo folk) and I went to Christ Church in Dublin. The gothic architecture was really a site to behold.

The spire of Christ Church. Very cool.

This is the intrepid fellwanderer Sean and myself scouting out a possible trail through fog covered bog in the Peak District. Note the gators on my legs, VITAL for bog treking if you have any interest in keep your feet from being innundated with freezing mud.

It's me! Gosh this was an amazing view.

Ah the peak district. Just when you think you have the bogs figured out, you get to start navigating down muddy slopes and across slick river rocks. I plunged my foot into this damn river.

Yes, the harmonica came with me to the UK. Much more difficult to play it in sub-zero temperatures though. After playing the Indiana jones theme song I found that my saliva had frozen to the harp. I pondered this for a moment and decided that perhaps this was a sign for me to stop. The sunglasses are on to protect me from the hail which had been pelting us on the whole friggin trek.

Speaking of hail... it was bitterly cold and the hail was flying sideways. We took shelter behind this wall during the worst of the storm and snacked on some of our lunch.

Hey it's the gang! Personalities of note... the looney in shorts is our fearless leader Pete. Our intrepid scouts Sean and Lecester (nicknamed scooter) are on the far left. Linda, the only one with any common sense in the club, is in the center with the light blue jacket. Sabin, who I practice my french with all the time, is in the back in the light green hooded jacket.

Marching along through a valley in the peak district. This area was stunning.
