A few "Lines" about what's going on at Acadia # 13
Dues for 2008
Grand Lodge is in the process of moving from the old building they have been renting on Barrington St. into a new location which they have purchased. To help defer the cost of this purchase Grand Lodge is requiring every Lodge in the province to remit $10.00 for each member in good standing . This fee is a "one time only" payment.
      This necessitates a "this year only" increase in our dues  to $60.00 instead of  the normal amount of $50.00  (if paid before the end of March). or $70.00 if paid after the end of March.

Our regular Lodge night and our first for 2008 was observed on Mon. Jan. 7th at 7:30 pm.  We were  pleasantly suprised by a visit from District Deputy Grand Master Rt. Wor. Bro. Harold MacAloney and his entourage.
      Business on the Master's trestleboard was primarily Installation of new officers as noted above. 
      Those in attendance were : From Acadia #13 Bro. Darold Kaluza, Bro. Wayne Arsenault, Bro. Robert Johnson, Bro. Geo. Anderson, Bro. Tom Wood, Bro. Ed Boyd, Bro. Stan Welton, Bro. Kevin Davis, Bro. Charles Gould

Regular Communication April 7th, 2008
Regular Lodge night was held on Monday, April 7th . The "Tyler" took his station at  7:40 PM.  Brethren in attendance were  WM. Bro. Kevin Davis, SW. Bro Tom Wood,, JW. Bro Barry Huston, SD. Bro. George Anderson, JD. Bro Kevin Huston. No visitors were in attendance.
       Business on the Master's trestleboard was balloting on a petition for affiliation from Bro. Donald Jamieson. The ballot was found to be favorable West and East and we sincerely  welcome Bro. Jamieson to Acadia # 13.
     Other business addressed were fund raising activities planned for the near future, Tickets for a  gift certificate for lobsters  to be drawn for Mother's Day was one of the plans discussed. Bro. Tom Wood & Bro. Darold Kaluza are looking into aquireing the particularsfor this event, with a ticket selling day to be at the Pugwash Co-op. 
       The Lodge was approached recently by Stephen Leahey, chair of the committee of the Pugwash Peace Exchange, as to whether our building could be considered in discussions and planning for the Peace Exchange project.  This was discussed and it was agreed that permission be granted for this and that the Lodge was to be under no obligation as a result of this.
       It was also agreed that work on the floor in the kitchen be started soon, and that Acadia # 13 would run the Money Wheel on July,1st again this year.
     Lodge closed at 9:20 in peace & harmony, Brethren retired to the social room for refreshments.
