Coming out of Long Island in 1989 with their first album, Three Feet High and Rising, De La Soul quickly won tremendous praise for this strong rap and hip hop album with well-known tracks, "Me Myself and I" and "Jenifa Taught Me."

De La Soul (Posdnous, Trugoy and Mase) has gone on to change the face of hip hop with three other releases, De La Soul Is Dead in 1991, Buhloone Mindstate in 1993 and Stakes Is High in 1996.

Over the years, the band has collaborated with A Tribe Called Quest's Q-tip, The Jungle Brothers, Maceo Parker and Black Sheep. Even though their mainstream popularity has dwindled since their first release, De La Soul continues to create passionate, enticing music.
