Bhagavati

Bhagavathi or Bhagavati (meaning goddess in Sanskrit) is the general way people refer to the Hindu goddesses in Malayalam language, of Kerala. It can be used to refer any of the Hindu goddess like Durga, Parvati, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Kali etc. Temples of these goddesses are referred as Bhagavathi temple.

The most famous Bhagavathi Temples in Kerala are "Chottanikkara Bhagavathi Temple", "Kodungallore Bhagavathi Temple" etc. There are some bhagavathy temples in Alappuzha like Kottamkulangara bhagavathy Temple, Mullackal Bhagavathy Temple, Pazhaveedu Bhagavathy Temple ...etc.

Many temples of goddess Bhagavati are found in Goa, mainly worshiped in the form of Mahishasur mardini ( mainly worshiped by GSB and Daivajna Konkani communities ) Bhagavati temples in Goa:

You also find temples of Bhagavthi in Maharashtra too. e.g. Bhagavati Devi Sansthan Deosari, Taluk Umarkhed, Dist Yavatmal.
