CHARLES DYMER

I still know very little about Great Uncle Charlie, which is surprising as he survived the war.  Below is a photograph of him with his wife, Daisy, taken in Salisbury in 1975.

I am told they had eight children.

More will be added to this page when I have had the opportunity of approaching the Public Records Office with a view to finding Charlie's Service Record if it still exists (many of these records were destroyed in the Blitz of World War II).

The photograph on the right shows him with his sister and my grandmother, Beulah.  It is taken from an undated postcard, on which Beulah wrote on the back, "Charlie and I.  Hope you like it."

Great Uncle Charlie is wearing the cap badge of the Machine Gun Corps, and has one wounded stripe on his lower left sleeve.

This photograph shows him, in later years, in what I presume to be a Hussar's uniform.
