Introduction

 

This short one period webquest is designed to help students of 10th grade at Khaled Bin Al-Waleed Secondary School understand and master the grammar mechanics of using the eight quantifiers (much, many, a lot of, a few, a little, some, any and no) related to the students’ English language text book (Jordan Opportunity) applied in Jordanian schools for the 10th grade.

Task

 

1.     Students listen to a short introduction on the issue presented by the teacher.

2.     Students work in three groups surfing three different sites to study the given explanation and examples in each site; then, students do some quizzes on the target quantifiers.

3.     Students nominate a leader of each group to explain to the rest of the class what they concluded and elicit the rule.

4.     Students as a class do a comprehensive quiz on the 8 quantifiers and mail their answers a long with the rubric to the teacher.

Evaluation

 

 

1.     Throughout the webquest, the students will receive checkpoint grades for the quizzes they do. Each group will do one different quiz that tests the group of the quantity words they studied. It is worth 10 points.

 

2.     As a final evaluation each student will do a quiz on the eight quantifiers studied as a homework activity that is prepared by the teacher at: http://www.geocities.com/himmokhaled/Quantity#_Neither_is_generally.  It is graded out of ten points. The total of the two quizzes equals 20 points.
