IN- JOKES IN JIGSAW
JELLYBEAN HILL- At the high school I went to, Altoona High School, there was a big hill behind the school. The side facing the school was nicknamed "Jellybean Hill."
THORN TIVRA VISITING HER SICK BROTHER- If you've seen Shoujo Kakumei Utena, this is pretty obvious. Jirae says that she's taking over the witch Thorn Tivra's position while the real witch visits her sick brother. She states, "I told her she'd end up getting attacked by a spear-wielding mob or something, but she wouldn't listen." The line is a joke on the scene from Utena where we see the "witch" Anshi attacked by a spear-wielding mob because she wouldn't let her very sick brother, Prince Dios, go out and help people.
THE CLOCK IN THE GIANTS' HOUSE READING 3:10- Just a little tribute to the Beatles movie "Help!", where at one point Paul is asked what time it is and replies. "Three... (checks his watch) ... ten."
MIKHAL NARSHFLARGEN- The "Narshflargen" part of the name of Ekuri's general comes from the Narshflargen-y exclamation from the game Wolfenstein.
THE SEXUAL PALM TREE OF RED DEATH- A tribute to my days of high school show choir. Our freshman year, one item that we brought to every competition was a party decoration that looked like a shiny red palm tree that had been dubbed "The Sexual Palm Tree of Red Death." Pall, the creator of the Sexual Palm Tree of Red Death (in Jigsaw), was named after the guy named Paul who named the thing.
THE SATANIC FISH OF DEATH- Also referring back to my show choir days. There was a fridge in a practice room only a few guys were allowed into. There was a big plastic fish taped to the door of the fridge to "guard" it. The black-marker writing underneath it read something like, "Satanic Fish of Death! This fish is known to be satanic and very deadly!" ... or something along those lines.
THE JALLEN SURNAME- As you may have read on Kao's profile, the surname "Jallen" came from when I was talking with my friend Rich on an IM while my keyboard was on the fritz. Instead of a "f" it would type a "j." So when I tried to type the word "fallen," it came out "jallen." He asked, "Who is Jallen?"
"IU DUNO"- Another name joke, you might have read this on Aleric's profile. I was chatting with someone on IM and meant to type "I dunno," but it came out "Iu duno." Ha ha.
STUPID- Comes from my sister's science teacher, who I think said that  a dog will come no matter what you call it if you act enthusiastic enough, for example, if you called the dog, but used the name "Stupid" instead of the dog's name, the dog would come all the same.
BUM PITTI SPOON- When my mom was a kid, at her house there was one spoon that had a bump in the handle that was nicknamed the "Bumpitty Spoon." The kids would fight over who got to use it. Eventually my mom's mom just threw the thing out the window and it was never seen again after that...
THE SOUND OF SOMEONE TRIPPING OVER THEIR BELL BOTTOMS AND FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS- Another thing I got from my mom.
THE SOUND OF SOMEONE THROWING A PARTY FOR THEIR TAPE MEASURE - Inspired by a Mad Lib me and my sister did once. I guess instead of "Who chopped down my cherry tree," George Washington's father said, "Who has thrown a party for my tape measure?"
JUN-AI SVELGO, TORA-TUN ANO AND APPLE FRITTERS - A while ago there was a great radio station called Radio AHHS. Once one of the hosts had a guest on, and while they took calls they ate apple fritters. Jun-Ai and Tora-Tun are my little avatars of Brad and his guest Terrance.
"NOT BY THE HAIR OF MY CHYNIN-NICH-NICH... NO, THAT'S NOT RIGHT..." - Me and my sister were playing with a fairy tales activity book and deliberately messing up the word scramble games, with hilarious results.
"WHO'S MIKO?" - The character named Miko who is only mentioned in the second draft is a joke on Miko Mido from La Blue Girl.
