Name: Sephiroth Age: Unknown (I'm guessing late 20's-early 30's) Gender: Male Family: Lucrecia (mother), Hojo (supposed father, but some say Vincent Valentine) Height: 61 Eyes: Aqua green Hair: Silver Birthday: Unknown Biography: The main villain of the Playstation game Final Fantasy VII, hes a top ranking SOLDIER officer with a 7-foot long sword called the Masamune, possibly named after a Japanese sword smith. Hes kinda misguided and thinks that Jenova is his real mother, when in reality, Lucrecia is. The unborn Sephiroth and Lucrecia were both injected with Jenova and Mako cells. Lucrecia died shortly after Sephiroths birth. Hes really good in using Materia and is a strong warrior. He and Cloud used to be war buddies, but Cloud was never really in SOLDIER until he tried to join to impress Tifa, but he didnt make it and became a regular Shinra soldier instead. Discovering a Mako reactor and realizing how different he was from everyone else, Sephiroth became determined to find out the truth of his past. Searching through the Shinra Mansion library in Nibelheim, he came across some information that convinced him that Jenova was his mother. He thought that he was not human and was from Cetra blood, AKA Ancients. (The Cetra have the ability to communicate with other Cetra who have returned to the planet and have special talent with magic: the manipulation of Mako energy, the planet's energy.) Even though humans descended from Cetras, the group nearly went extinct as humans dominated. Sephiroth got all peed off and wanted revenge on the humans and vowed to wipe out the human race. He went into a small temper tantrum and burned down Nibelheim, becoming enemies with Cloud. He made a plan: Make Jenova whole again, use the Black Materia to make meteors crash to Earth to kill the humans, and injure the planet so severely that he would wait in a crater and merge himself with the planets energy and become a god. He can control Cloud like a puppet. Other Information: Firstly, Sephiroth is not really Cetra. The Sephiroth that you meet in the game up until the Reunion is actually a clone--another body created by Hojo carrying some of Jenova's cells and carrying out the real Sephiroth's will. (That means it was the clone who killed Aeris!) The real Sephiroth died 5 years before the setting of Final Fantasy VII and is lying dormant in a cocoon in the Promised Land. It is the real Sephiroth who uses the Black Materia to summon Meteor. - Jenova was not truly one of the Cetra. She is actually the "crisis from the sky," the Planet's nemesis. While Jenova is on the Planet, it cannot completely heal its wounds. Jenova can be looked upon as a sort of disease. When her cells, when implanted, can cause a being to go mad and transform into a monster. She is also able to change the form of that being into any likeness she wishes. Jenova is the source of the virus that wiped out most of the Cetra. - The Reunion is the joining of Jenova's dismembered pieces back into one. Hojo of Shinra, Inc. was the one who separated Jenova's cells and implanted them into many Sephiroth-clones. The purpose of the experiment was to see what would happen when the time for the Reunion came. His original hypothesis was that the clones would travel to the Shinra building, where Jenova was stored, and the Reunion would take place there. However, instead, Jenova itself moved, and all the clones gathered at the Promised Land. My Thoughts: He's hot, plain and simple. Sure it was mean of him to kill Aeris, Tifa's father, and he's the kind of bad guy that you love to hate, but he's pretty cool. His sword kicks arse! I do find it amusing that he's chasing after the Black Materia, (AKA "The Marble"). |
