My first Himalayan cat was bought as a pet, and was dearly lovely by our family. I then decided that I would like to become further involved with this beautiful breed of cat, so started to attend cat shows. After speaking with breeders and exhibitors, I finally obtained a registered show cat. This was a lovely big blue point male. At the time there were some stunning blue point males on the bench, but my boy held his own, and won quite a few challenges and therefore obtained his championship. This was the start of my breeding and show exhibiting hobby, which can quickly become quite an obsession. Breeding was the next step, and with help and guidance from Rene Bostock and Pat Andrew I successfully bred some very appealing kittens. The breeding of cats does have some pitfalls and disappointments, but has many glorious moments, such as when you look at your sweet babies and know that they are going to become lovely, healthy cats. My next step in the cat fancy was becoming a member of the Himalayan Cat Club in 1989, and I was elected Assistant Secretary in 1990. Soon after, I wanted to become more involved and decided to do the Stewards Course and I have been a steward since 1995. In 1997, I was elected Secretary of The Himalayan Cat Club, and have held that position ever since. ![]() My cats have been consistently shown in the eastern states of Australia and have won many awards in New South Wales and Victoria . Awards have been won for the NSW Cat Fanciers' Association Spay Cat of the Year three years in a row. In 2006 my cats were awarded NSW Cat Fanciers' Association 3rdBest Female Kitten of the Year and have also won major awards in the ACT. I breed to the Persian standard and have been constant in maintaining health, vigour and temperament in my stock.
