Quarrying is one of the major problems of our environment. They extract sand and gravel to provide the foundation for the local economies in some parts of the country. Products of this industry are used as input for consumer goods, processes and services provided by all other industries including agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, communication and construction.
Mankind has been skilled in this activity for thousands of years. It's two major products are dimension stone blocks or slabs of such materials as limestones, granite, marble or sandstone- and crushed or broken stone. It's quarrying tecchnique involves deep drilling and blasting to break the rocks.
Extensive use of land is made by quarrying, wherein they entail the removal of minerals and stone from the earth. This means an irreplaceable loss. They use underground methods or surface, open-pit techniques.

There are still ways to protect our environment and
to minimize quarrying. As a student, we can help in preventing our environment from destruction by putting slogans on some areas of Bagong Lipunan to let the people know how advantageous it is to have a clean surrounding and environment safe from the effects of quarrying that may harm us.
