To find Rules to start playing there are a number of free role playing games on the net which you only have to print and read.
I will try and find a few of my favourite sites and post them up here, the only thing you'll need now is dice.
Welcome to the AD&D section of my page, in this area i will be trying to write up some details and diaries of my and my groups adventures.
Firstly, i am the "DM" (dungeon master) of my games that means i am in control of everything to do with playing, i can safly say that in AD&D i am god off my worlds.

Now to play dungeons and dragons one has to have a DM and three players at least, we        have tried playing with less but it oftern turns boring and repedative. Having more than      say 5 or more without a certain "order" to things would be too much.
   It's not possible to tell you how it feels to play this game apart from with the right DM       the game can be as real as life, and with the right players the game can be so funny or       serious you can't take your mind off whats happening.

AD&D is not game that can be compared with anyother computer, board, video, drunk party game, it is in a realm of it's own and unless you play it you'll never know what "true" gaming is like. I've heard it being compared to a board game well this is a blatent miss judgement, it is like nothing on earth. The best comparison i can bring near to playing AD&D is writing a book where the author doesn't know what the characters are going to do and where the story is going to go, sure you know roughly what you want but you have no control over what the players are going to do and so a whole new world of possibilities is opened.

Now enough of my insesent talkings, now to tell you how to get playing.
(one of my favourite things is to get other people started in playing RPGs (role playing games)

This site is great for lots of free RPGs

To play a role playing game;
In all sets of rules you'll find they will give you an example of how to play a games sucessfully but you may need a bit extra help, firstly you must determine what type of DM you want to be (or what suits your personallity) you may not be able to find this out untill you have played for a little amount of time.
If you like the following ways of playing then you will need to suit the game to YOUR personality, you should never have to suit the game around the personallity of your players.

Scientific, if you like to know the rules and have the apropriate dice rolls in front of you, i suggest you read the rules fully and make yourself fully understand the tables and dice rolls.
Imaginative, if you like to skip all the rules and just get playing, ok this is dangerous but potietually some of the best games you and your players will ever play (i'm this type) make sure you know how to do combat rules (IMPORTANT i didn't and i managed to wing it through)
