NEWS AND COMMENTS
April 19th, Eldora,
Hillard and his crew braved the fuel prices and took the trip to Eldora in hopes the rain would hold out.
We did get to run, finishing 4th  in his heat race, Top three transferred to the feature race so we had to run the consi, in that racing action, we jumped the cushion breaking the lower control arm forcing us to come off the track. The crew rushed to get the car repaired and we took a provisional for last starting position in the feature. After a few cautions, the race was getting underway rather well when something hit Hillard in the face. This spidered his helmet, shattered his face sheild and caused him to loose right side vision. knowing he was in one of the last couple places at that time, he shut the car down to prevent losing complete control, the track was already under a caution for another driver that blew his motor. Hillard was taken to the local hospital and then air lifted to Parkview Trauma. The results are so far, broken teeth, nose, eye socket, and the bones around the eye. He has a few lacerations and alot of swelling and bruising. We'll know more when we see the eye and nose specialists later this week. I'll keep you posted.
April 26th update......Hillard went to the eye surgeon yesterday. He's very impressed with the way things are healing and  he'll go back in three weeks for another eye appointment. The swelling and bruising are almost gone, and his vision is improving. He'll have to see a nose specialist this week for repair to the broken nose, and the bones around the eye. They are very optimistic about his recovery. Thanks again to all who have sent cards, prayers, and phone calls. We greatly appreciate all your support.
Hillard is very anxious to get back in the car and we hope to do just that next week. We'll keep you posted.

May 2nd, Hillard has seen the nose specialist, at this time he's decided not to have the cosmetic surgery to correct his nose. He's healing very well and plans on racing at Oakshade on the 3rd. Hope to see you there!!!!!
June 8th, Hillard's vision is doing very well. We've seen the eye specialist again and will go back next month for hopefully the final visit. We've been racing and found alot of things wrong over the last few weeks. Repairs have been made, and last night at Oakshade he said the car felt better than it had in a long time.
June 14th, Oakshade,Hillard finished 4th from the 9th starting position in his heat race. This gave him a feature starting position of 16th. He finished 7th after a very competive race.
June 20th,Attica, Hillard and the crew powered themselves to a 4th place finish in the heat race. This gave him the 16th starting position in the feature again. After a very competive field hillard was able to finish 9th without any mishaps. See you at Oakshade for the Butch Wildermuth Memorial Race.
June 21st, Mother Nature won this one dumping rain too close to race time to be able to get the race in.
July 26th, Well good grief, It's been a while since I've updated the page and I apologize for that.Lets see, we've had some dumb luck lately but I'll spare you some of the details there. We've had rain cancellations and or postponments. We've had a bent frame but we were able to repair the car to be able to compete. A couple of "mishaps" with other competitors and with the inside tires on the track hasn't helped. I'll get some photos updated and loaded soon, bear with me while I await permission from some of the photographers.  We haven't had the greatest finishes but are still out there tryin to get back to where we've been before. Stay with us as we continue to strive for that goal.
August updates, The Team has been staying neat home at Oakshade. Due to the economy, fuel prices and racing costs and the limited budget we've had to give up some of the schedule. We've been competitive and are still in the game. The best finish so far has been last week at Oakshade. Hillard won his heat race  and ran a terrific feature leadin all but the last few laps to finish second in the feature. Cautions plagued the race and that doesn't help any racer. There was a particular caution that has some in an uproar but when the opposing racer and his crew came to our pit after the race, all was discussed by the drivers. There was no intention on either part, and both racers have that understanding.
Wow has it been a while!!! My apologies. So much going on around here and not enough time in the day. I spent a couple months doctoring so that's put me behind on things. Anyway all is well for me now so i can get ya updated.
Hillard has announced that he will not be running as much. Quite possibly a full retirement. He states he's done running his own equipment but if someone is looking for a driver he's more than willing to work out a deal with the owners. We'd all like to thank everyone involved in his career over the past three decades and hopefully things can and will work out so that we can continue to participate in a few upcoming events.
