Willam D Smith
William Darlington Smith, aged 72 years, 10 months and 29 days, died at 7:45 Monday night, September 25, 1939, at the family home in Luzerne township after a lingering illness. He was born October 26, 1936.
Surviving are the widow, Gertrude Ellen Smith, and the following children, Mrs. Edwin Meyerhof, Cokesburg; Weldon, of Reedsville, W. Va; Mrs. William Thomas, Est Riverside; Mrs. James Clark, Palmer; Mrs. John Porter, Baltimore, Md; Mrs. Fred Porter, East Millsboro; Denzel, Adah, and Earl, of Millsboro, and two brothers, George and James Smith, both of Chalk Hill.
Brief Services will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the family residence, with the main rites to follow in the Chalk Hill church. Rev. R.C. Van Eman of Merrittstown will officiate and burial will be in Chalk Hill cemetery.
