In 1870 Benjamin and Katie Alexander lived in Subdivision 141,
in Floyd County, Georgia. Benjamin was a farmer. His real
estate valued 1300 dollars.
In 1880 the town is listed as Chulio. I am assuming that
Sub 141 and Chulio are the same town, because in later census'
it states that he owned his farm.
Also living with them in 1880 were two boarders, Wiley Marshall,
an 18 year old black man, and Jane Duggan, a 45 year old black woman.
Considering the time and location, I would guess that boarder
would be a politically correct way of saying servant/slave.
In 1900 Benjamin and Katie are still living in Chulio with
only family members living with them. Nancy Alexander Reeves' son
Joseph Benjamin is living with them also.
