AUDIO-VISUAL POLICY

 

PURPOSE

                        The Fairmont High School Media Center is an educational and materials center.

 Its function is to locate, gather, provide, and co-ordinate both print and non-print material

for learning.  It is also a center for housing and disseminating equipment required for the

use of all types of materials.         

 

MISSION

            The mission of the Fairmont High School Media Center Program is to ensure

that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.

 

 

 

AUDIO-VISUAL GUIDELINES

 

I.                   A two (2) day notice in writing will be required for the use of a TV/VCR/laser

disk player from the Media Center.

           

II.                 All equipment and Audio-Visual materials must be checked out by the teacher

or staff personnel.  Students may not check out equipment or AV materials

for a teacher or staff member.

 

III.              No equipment or AV material may be removed from the Media Center without

proper checkout through a Media Coordinator.

 

IV.             No outside videos or other AV material may be used in any classroom or

instructional setting without written permission from the Principal or Assistant

Principals.

           

V.                The use of any Audio-Visual equipment (Media Center, department, personal)

must be included and correlated with lesson plans.

 

VI.             Videos, laser disks, or other forms of Audio-Visual materials will not be used for

substitute lesson plans without approval of the Administration.

 

 

VII.          Any controversial material used in any instructional setting will have:

A.     Prior Administrative approval

B.     Parent permission through a written form
