Sweden Page 3. Once we were done, we strolled along a gravel path that was to take us to an open air museum. Unfortunately, it was closed. They had a cafe that sold delicious looking desserts, such as waffles with whip cream and fruit topping. Too bad we were full from our lunch.
We decided to continue our walk along the gravel path along the river. It was quite nice. We met an older gentleman who was dressed up. He stopped and talked to us for a few minutes. He was wondering what brought us to Norrkopping. One thing he mentioned were the mosquitoes. I agreed. Last night was the first time I saw mosquitoes and have been bitten since I left home. He said that they usually are up north but the weather this year was quite different and they came down south.
The walk along the river was about a mile. It was a pleasant walk and it felt good to just walk. We came out to this park and cemetery. It was small with small gravestones. Laurie thought it might be a pet cemetery. It was. There were nice plaques and flowers were growing around them.
We then stopped to shop for groceries and went back to the hostel. After we put things away we walked down to the train station. We were going to take the original 1902 train around the city. They only use the train in the summer for tourists. There was a guide to talk about the city. The problem was, she spoke in Swedish. The ride was only a half hour, but it was something to do.
As we were on the train it started raining. Once we got home it was a down pour. Funny thing, the sun was still shining.
It was a good day in Norrkopping, eventhough some people feel that there isn't anything to do, we kept ourselves busy. The place was clean and well kept. It wasn't crowded, which was great. All the crowds are at the larger cities. Tomorrow we are back on the train. We will be heading for Copenhagen, Denmark.
