I had steak!  Wasn't the best, but for someone who hasn't had beef in a long time I was quite happy.  I was even able to get a diet Coke with ice.  Normally one shouldn't get ice, but the menu said the ice was made with boiled or filtered water.  I think the boys were out of their element.  They are use to eating after us, having daal bhat, and picking up after us.  I think they enjoyed the treat though.  The boys and Nar went back to the hotel while Laurie and I went to the internet.  I wanted to see what important emails I had.  It was nice to read them and feel connected with home,

On our way back, Laurie and I found a place that had chocolate cake.  We took it to go.  I was still full from dinner, but was able to get it down.

I ment to mention a couple of things about the few people we met along our hike.  We met a dentist from Colorado.  He was in Katmander for ten days doing volunteer dentistry.  It is really nice when you hear people doing that.

The other person we met was a Nepalese woman carrying her child on her back wrapped around her with a blanket.  Nar talked to the woman.  She told him her husband died and now she has to give up her child because there is no way to support her and her child.  It is very sad.  We see many woman on the streets that look homeless.

This is the end of our Annapurna trek.

Stay tuned for the next trek in the Everest region.
