After breakfast Laurie and I sat in the common room and tried to plan our days in Italy.  I tried to make a hostel reservation in Padova.  It is about half an hour away from Venice.  We thought it would be easier to stay outside the city and just commute.  The hostel told me they were full, but I should call tomorrow.  Well, I guess we will just take our chances.

In the common room we met a young German man.  I believe his name was Heinrich.  He was very nice.  He was looking for some information on France.  He has been in Chamonix awhile working at the hostel.  He spends his time studying French.

Henrich, Laurie, and I walked down to the center.  We wanted to use the internet.  The day was so crystal clear.  It felt cool and crisp.  It felt wonderful to be out.

Laurie and I did some errands and the used the internet.  It cost 1 Euro for 10 minutes.  It certainly adds up.  After the internet, I just sat on a bench in the center.  I read my book and people watched.  When it was close to dinner time Laurie and I walked to the pizza place that we went to last night, ordered pizza and then caught the bus back to the hostel.

When I got back I reorganized my things.  We are going back out with all of our things.  The pack is certainly heavy.  A lot of it is food and books.  I would love to be able to stay some place where we can cook to get rid of the food.  I can't do much with the books.  We need them for planning our travels and places to stay.

Once I was organized, I ate pizza and read.  It was then time for bed.
