Today was just a travel day. We have been traveling so far over 12 hours and we aren't done yet.
We left the hotel at 7:30 and stopped for a hot drink. Then we caught the 8:30 bus. We got off in Cangas de Onis because we wanted to see if I left our book there. We had to wait 45 minutes for the information center to open. It was worth the wait because the woman recognized me and said she had our book.
We then had to wait another hour for the next bus to Oveido. Once we got there we had to walk to the train station for our train. We got there and once again had to wait for our train. The train left at 1:35 which took us to Leon. We had a little wait there so we got pizza from Pizza Hut to go. The train left Leon at 4:50 for Madrid and we arrived there at 9:00.
Once we got to Madrid we went to the ticket counter so we could get tickets for Lisbon, Portugal. The train only goes at night. Once we got our tickets we asked if they were for sleepers. He said no and sent us to the information booth. The woman said the sleepers were 44.00 euros. We said forget it. We have a long ride, 9 hours in a train where we will not be able to stretch out and sleep. Oh well, we have managed on planes. I guess we can manage on a train.
