Digimon Theories:
Almost 100% unverified Digimon information:

Well, what can be said? This page was built for one sole purpose... or several purposes, which are all basically the same...

The purpose is to create a page with In-Depth information on the nature of Digimon, while focusing on things extremely hard to verify. For example, the nature of "The Void" that Metal Etemon and Apocalymon came from, an attempt to identify why some Digimon evolve while others don't, and exactly why the one Diigmon might evolve into RedVegiemon, while a different Digimon of the same species might evolve into Togemon instead. Also, I plan on explaining the Digivices and Digimentals. There are so many things to give information on, that it's not even funny. Thus, someone has to try to lay down some groundwork as to the details so that a standard can be reached. I'm personally kind of hoping that will be me, but I kind of doubt that.

Part 1:
Digimon Classifications:

Vaccine:

Vaccines are better known as the "Virus Busters", because of their main purpose in the Digital World. Their main purpose is to wipe out any Digimon that may be planning on infecting everything. As such, Vaccines are much more agressive than most of the other Digimon Types. This agressiveness may be used against the Vaccine, however, as they may end up battling someone who they decided was an offender, though there may or may not have been any indication of it.

Data:

Data Digimon are the caretakers of the Digital World. If Vaccines are the ones that guard the Digital World, Data are the ones that nurture it. Data Digimon range from Elecmon, who takes care of all the babies in the Digital World until they've achieved their baby form, to Centarumon, the guardian of an ancient ruin, to Piximon, a Digimon well known for training most of the Vaccine Digimon in the world. It should be noted, however, that Data Digimon are inherently extremely vulnerable to virii, to the point that many Virus Digimon are new species created from a Data Digimon being infected by a Virus.

Virus:

Virus Digimon are an enigma in the Digital World. When looked at briefly, they appear to have no true purpose in the Digital World, and spend most of their time picking on those weaker than them. However, an examination of the programming of Ogremon pulls out an interesting tidbit. He was programmed for one sole purpose: to do battle with, and eventually kill Leomon. This by itself raises a few questions about the purpose of a Virus Digimon. Could such things be created for the purpose of eliminating programs which are no longer needed? However, that theory can't be correct, due to the fact that all Digimon EXCEPT Virii are reborn, which raises another question. Why is it that only Virus Digimon are never reborn? The answer to that question may lie within the Digimon known as Apocalymon.

Part 2:
Digimon Items:

Digivice:

The Digivice is allows evolution into an Adult. However, it also allows for more advanced functions, such as information on the amount of steps walked and the current condition of the Digimon. It also seems to work as a close-range radar, allowing those with Digivices to follow one another. Finally, it has the strange ability to ward Evil-type Digimon at, or weaker than, Adult-form. Note, however, that the Digivice warding function only works against Digimon that are either Evil-type, or items used to contain a Virus. Technically, the Digivice isn't necessary to the evolution of a digimon, but works as a temporary evolution for the Digimon.

D-3:

The D-3 holds more compatabilities than the normal Digivice. The D-3 allows compatability with the Digimentals to allow for evolutions using Digimentals. The D-3 also allows for connections into the Digital World through any computer, and can be used for a long-range radar, even in the real world. It should be noted that although a D-3 is still capable of evolving a Digimon into its Adult-form, it requires the emotion attached to the D-3 as well.

D-Arc:
The D-Arc, as it is currently known as, appears to work similar to other Digivices, but again, with additional features attached. The most notable difference is an area to "swipe" Digimon cards through, causing it to temporarily "patch" the holder's digimon with the program or item shown on the card. Most of the D-Arc's functions are unknown, and will likely remain unknown until later in the series.

Crest Tag:

The Crest Tag is used to focus the power of a Crest. This is mainly used to allow for evolutions into Ultimate, though that requires the crest. The Crests can be used to Digivolve into Ultimate without a Crest Tag, however. The Crest Tags also work as a minor detection function if the Crests are nearby. Each Tag is capable of finding the characteristic that is greatest in a person, and adjusting their power frequency to find the tag with that characteristic. It has also been noted that when the Tags and Crests are combined, they can also be used to embue special powers upon the user, though this has only been seen a few times, and all from the same Digidestined. Also, it should be noted that

Crest:

The Crest, as mentioned before, is one of the pieces needed for an evolution into Ultimate. The Tag is not needed to cause this evolution to exist. The Crests, similarly to the Digimentals, normally remain hidden unless a person with a large amount of the characteristic it reacts to is nearby. The tags, as mentioned before, work as an amplifier for the Crests, thus, when a Tag is nearby with the same quality of the Crest, the Crest comes to the Tag instead of the Digidestined. All of the crests have their own properties, and there are at least 9 Crests.

Digimental (Digi-Egg):

The Digimental is a characteristic given form. All of the items used to evolve Digimon were built from the Digimentals, thus there are likely more Digimentals than any other existing item. With the Digimentals being completely of this one characteristic, these require a greater amount of the needed characteristic than either the Crests or the Tags. Most likely, the Crests were meant to be a sort of "training wheel" to the Digimentals, though this isn't verified. It's theorized that there is a different Digimental for every single Digidestined, even though there may not be a Crest for all of them.

Part 3:
Digimon Forms:

Fresh Digimon:

"Fresh" Digimon refers to the most basic kind of Digimon: those who have just sprouted from their egg. They are completely defenseless, and can usually say very little. However, the episode where Ken returns to Primary Villiage shows that they actually have quite a vocabulary. Fresh Digimon have no way of attacking until they grow into Baby Digimon.

Baby (In-Training) Digimon:

Baby Digimon are those Digimon that have just grown from a Fresh Digimon. Most Baby Digimon are sent to a villiage where most of their kind live by Elecmon. The Baby Digimon have very little attacks, and all Baby Digimon share the same attack: Bubble Blow. Once Baby Digimon are grow, they gain more characteristics unique to its species.

Child (Rookie) Digimon:

Child Digimon are the turning point in the existance of all Digimon. What they evolve into from the Baby Digimon determines their existance for the rest of their lives. All Child Digimon have attacks unique to their species, and there are at least 3 species of Child Digimon capable of evolving from each species of Baby Digimon: One Vaccine, one Data, and one Virus.

Adult (Champion) Digimon:

All Child Digimon will eventually become Adult Digimon. Adult Digimon usually look extremely similar to their Child form, only much, much, much larger. Adult Digimon are much feircer than a Child Digimon, for reasons currently unknown.

Fully-Evolved (Ultimate) Digimon:

Fully-Evolved Digimon are considered to be some of the most powerful Digimon in existance. However, evolving into Fully-Evolved Digimon is extremely risky. When becoming Fully-Evolved, Digimon are much more sensitive to the way they were treated recently. In other words, if they're treated badly before they evolve, you might have some beast that wants to wipe out the entire planet. As such, care should be taken to ensure that Digimon are in tip-top shape, both physically and mentally around the time they first evolve.

Perfect (Mega) Digimon:

Perfect Digimon are theoretically impossible to exist. The only Perfect Digimon to exist were more or less created. The Dark Masters are good examples of this. They were created by a Digimon made up of several Digimon. Another way that Perfected Digimon to be created is to be exposed to a large amount of power. MetalEtemon was created by being trapped in the void between Earth and the Digital World, while VenomMyotismon was created by being made up of deleted Digimon. There are only two other known Perfect Digimon, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. However, these two were indirectly. The two people who held their Evolution Items were blessed by two Angel-type Digimon, Angemon and Angewomon. With the blessing, the people that allowed them to evolve had larger than normal power. This in turn was reflected upon the Digimon, allowing for evolution into Perfect-form.

Part 4:
Crest and Digimental Characteristics:

Courage:

The chracteristics of the Courage Evolutions always seem to be related to fire. These creatures are more powerful than most digimon, due to the increased strength that the courage evolutions give.

Honesty/Sincerity (Reliability):

The characterics of the Honesty Evolutions are always related to water. These creatures swim better than most digimon, as the honesty evolutions seem to be meant for undersea battles.

Purity (Sincerity):

The characteristics of Purity Evolustions are closely related to nature. These creatures ave more stealthy than most digimon, due to their close affinity with nature.
