A Detective and a Monkey Male Science Hero Sentinels Everyman Strength: Standard Agility: Supreme (-50 Points) Body: Standard Mind: Supreme (-50 Points) History: Yeah, that's right, I used to be part of the KPD too. I was part of one of the lesser known divisions. My job was to investigate disappearances of the... shall we say, lesser known sort? ...Yeah, I was a detective given the job of investigating animals mysteriously disappearing. But then, after I completed this case involving a monkey, I got fired. Why? Well, it goes like this: The monkey had my gun, and I have to admit, I ain't messing with no monkey if I can help it. So, I brought him back to the station, proving that I did indeed solve the mystery of the missing monkey, and hopefully getting help in disarming the monkey. But of course, things didn't go as planneed. The monkey wound up firing the gun while I was busy getting help to disarm him. This in turn wound up killing off one of the most corrupt officials in the KPD, who was also my boss. Of course, you can imagine what things looked like: detective shoots his boss after bringing in a monkey. Insane or disgruntled, doesn't matter which. Of course, people had a hard time believing that it was the monkey that did it... To this day, I don't think people really realize it was the monkey. Of course, when it turned out he was completely corrupt, I was let off the hook... but of course, they couldn't let a "dangerous and unstable" individual work for the KPD. Despite this though, I still had a few contacts, which allowed me to get right back to work. This time around, I'm working for the Sentinels.. and guess what? I haven't had to investigate a single animal disappearance since! Personality: Well, let me tell you, investigating mystery after mystery only to find that 80% of the time, the animal was in some insanely obvious place grates on your nerves after a while. Day after day after day, a new animal goes missing... only to make you look like an idiot when it decides to head home. There are some days when I wish I could just gun those animals down... but they were my job, so I couldn't. Besides, it's not like I could even hit them if I tried. Oh, the monkey? you want the monkey's personality? You know, I haven't figured that one out yet either. One time I asked him what he was fighting for. His response took about an hour, with his mixture of "Ook"s, "Eek"s, and "Ack"s... He must have a good reason I suppose, but there's no way I'm ever going to understand it. Certified Magician (Spellcraft) Rank: Standard (-35 Points) Well, when I was going through university, I was interested in two things: Magic, and the Scientific Theory. Strange combination, huh? Well, I didn't quite wind up along that pathway: I wound up getting a degree in Spellcraft, with a bit of knowledge of how to hunt criminals. Strange combination I realize... Eh? Why don't I have more advanced knowledge of Spellcraft than how to through some basic fireballs and such then? Well, my courses wound up mostly theory. On the Job Training (Detective) Rank: Superior (-45 Points) Actually, to be perfectly honest, I gained most of my knowledge of detective skills AFTER I joined the KPD. They actually have a lot of training in that area, if you want... Of course, I didn't get the more advanced stuff, for the reasoning of... Well, come on, I wound up doing animal investigations. Unless it was a kidnapping, murder or hit and run, I didn't need much in the way of Detective skills. Beast Master Rank: Standard (-35 Points) (Seeker) So how did this whole mess begin? Well, my final investigation was to hunt down an escapee monkey from a zoo. Sounds innocent enough, right? Well, my investigation wound up leading me to the city skyline. It was a dangerous situation for anyoone not careful, but mockingly simplistic for a monkey. Anyways, I thought I finally had it... when lo and behold, it wound up getting a hold of my gun. Now, messing with an armed monkey on the city skyline isn't my idea of fun, but somehow, I managed to prevail... however, he still had my gun, and had it pointed at my head. Not exactly the ideal scenario, I think. So, I somehow managed to get it back to the station without being shot in the head, and that's when things fell apart. The Monkey Rank: Standard (Seeker) I don't know much about the monkey, except for a few things. First, it's got my gun, and only seems to let it go whenever it's empty, and second... it's better with a gun than I am. So, I'm letting it stick around, simply because it's too dangerous to let the thing into the public alone. Who knows how many people would be gunned down by the monkey? Of course, then there's the fact that somehow, it always seems to be able to aim the gun in such a way that it hits the person I try to get it to target... All while seemingly randomly firing the gun. It's got to be the single strangest thing I've ever seen. The Monkey's Gun (Projectile Attack) Rank: Superior (-35 Points) (Multi-Use), (Easy to Lose) Ok, technically, it's my gun, but I don't think the monkey agrees with that. It's very protective of its gun. It's just your standard issue KPD weapon, really, but it's effective enough in most cases. Of course, the monkey doesn't exactly know how to reload it, and there's also the fact that it's still a gun, so it would theoretically be possible to take it away from the monkey, but... who's going to get up close and mess with a monkey? Especially one with a gun? *Sighs* The best I manage to do is reload the gun between fights. It takes way too much coersion to get it to drop the gun in a battle.
