"Ok Evangeline, I've broken the curse now." Negi spoke, wipping the sweat from his forehead. His father certainly knew how to make a good curse, but he had managed to dispel it. And upon hearing that, Evangeline A. K. McDowell took uncertain steps out of the Mahora grounds. For the average person, this would be a minor thing, but for these two, these steps were more significant than most peoples first steps. For the first time in sixteen years, Evangeline was free to do whatever she liked, without fearing about whether she would suddenly find herself right back at the area against her will. She was finally free once more. As her long-lost powers returned to her with the breaking of the curse she felt empowered once more: She was complete once more: The Dark Gospel had had her third coming. However, she was lost. Not long ago, she had known exactly what she would do with her powers, but now... Now all those things she had wanted to do seemed so superficial. Sure, she could kill people who frustrated her, torture them for years, but in the long run, that wouldn't satisfy her at all. She would simply continue killing until eventually, the killing became her only goal. As she stood at this point, cursing her own weakness, she wondered if that was what the Thousand Master had in mind the entire time... She looked towards Negi, as he recovered from the casting of the counter-spell. Giving him a bit of time to recover, she eventually spoke to him. "So Negi, are you still going to keep looking for the Thousand Master then, now that you've managed to survive these three semesters?" Negi nodded. "Yes... I'm going to find my father, and show him myself... That I've become a magician worthy of being his child." Evangeline froze for a couple minutes in indecision, before deciding. "Then I'll come with you!" She said, a bit too cheerfully for her own liking. So, she coughed a couple times, and tried again. "I'll come with you. You don't stand a chance without some back-up, so I'll come with you to make sure nothing goes wrong." Negi shook his head before responding. "But what about being free? Why would you want to waste any more time with me?" "I've got a few things to say to your father as well, you know. We'll just say you owe me a favor, ok?" Negi's response was cheerful, as usual with his personality. "Great! If you're with me, there's no way anyone can beat us! We'll find my father for sure!" With that, the two walked off, and Evangeline decided to do something she had at one time dreamed of with the Thousand Master... but now, Negi was the only person she could tihnk about doing this with. She leaned her head on Negi's shoulder, meeting with no resistance. Thus, the two looked like an ordinary couple for a short while... before Evangeline bit into the side of Negi's neck, being careful to avoid any major veins. Negi didn't physically resist, but did ask the obvious. "Evangeline... could you maybe not bite into my neck? It makes me a little nervous..." She simply closed her eyes and spoke to Negi, still keeping her teeth on his neck. "Just let me stay like this a little while longer." Ending 31-A: A Normal Couple? Negi collapsed from the strain of using the magic, whilst Evangeline stood nearby, just within the Mahora grounds, watching as Negi failed to cast the spell, unable to help him up as he stood outside the grounds. Slowly, Negi recovered, and faced Evangeline, bowing his head in shame. "I'm sorry Evangeline... It looks like I couldn't break the curse after all..." Despite how she felt, Evangeline did her best to put on a smile as Negi apologized. "It's no big deal Negi. I shouldn't have expected this to work anyways..." Of course, Negi would have none of that. "But I promised I would break your curse, no matter what! I have to keep my promises..." Suddenly, Negi had an idea. "I've got it! Evangeline, I'll find my father, and ask him to break your curse! I promise you, i'll break this curse on you even if I have to search for my father forever! I know he's out there! This is... goodbye, Evangeline." With that, Negi began walking away, head still examining the ground, as he headed away... and within Evangeline, all the walls she used to conceal her emotions broke down for a moment, and she ran after Negi, even with the power of the curse draining her. "Wait... Negi, please, don't leave me! I'd rather be trapped in here forever with you than be alone again! Please, just stay here! Let the Thousand Master stay dead! Please..." Negi stopped in his tracks and turned around, watching Evangeline in surprise, as she acted so uncharacteristically... and got thrown back into the school grounds by the curse. Instinctively, Negi ran over to her, and checked for any injuries. Considering the power of the curse, it was admittedly a bit of a wonder that Evangeline didn't take as much injuries as she could have. Negi gave a sigh of relief, before hugging Evangeline and speaking to her. "I promise... I won't leave you. I'll stay here forever, until you can leave again." And that's how I wound up becoming a permanent teacher here at the Mahora Middle School. Me and Evangeline are still together... in fact, we'll probably be together here for the rest of our lives. I sometimes wonder if my father's still alive somewhere, but these days, that's not important. What's really important is the time I spend with Evangeline. How did the Dean and the class handle it? ...Surprisingly well, actually. Most of the class was shocked about it yes, but the Dean saw it as perfectly acceptable, considering that Evangeline's... probably never going to leave this class. Ending 31-B: Eternal Teacher
