A slightly-short dark-blue haired girl hummed as her coffee filled the air
around her PC with steam.
"Ahh... the perfect temperature." She remarked, as her client slowly connected
to the server. The script handled most of the minor details, as she took a sip
of her coffee.
"Vanilla roast, let's never fight again..." She lovingly said to her coffee
taking another sip. She sighed slightly, before talking to herself a bit more.
"Maybe it was a bad idea to go cold turkey on Mu's birthday..." She turned to
face her roommate, who was still sleeping, before shouting at her.
"This is your fault you know, Kanako!" The roommate in question rolled
slightly in response, promptly before her bed collapsed on her, making a
resounding noise throughout the room, causing the one at the computer to shake
her head slightly, thankful that she had her coffee to deal with these antics,
as her roommate finally gave a response.
"I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm not dead!" She called, dragging herself out of the
mess that was a few minutes ago her bed. Once she managed to get to a standing
position, she continued, doing a little twirl as she spoke. "And look
Chihara-chan! There's not even any splinters this time!" Chihara simply sighed,
knowing she was going to need a lot of coffee today, as she looked back at the
computer screen:
<Emerald> Oh, hey Leviathan. Mu's not in today.
"Oh of course, I finally decide to apologize and he's not here... damn
Murphy's Law..." Chihara muttered under her breath, which unfortunately for her
wasn't quiet enough to not be noticed by Kanako, who quickly moved over to
hovering over Chihara's shoulder.
"Oh, so everyone's favorite sitcom is back on air?" Chihara in turn quickly
closed her laptop.
"You're not seeing anything if you're going to look over my shoulder like
that. You might blow up my computer." Kanako in turn sighed and backed away,
sitting on the floor.
"Hai hai... You just go on with the drama." Finally having a bit of piece,
Chihara took another sip of her coffee, feeling at peace with the universe once
more.
<Leviathan> Eh? What happened?
<Emerald> Well, aside from Prism banning him...
"...What the hell did I miss yesterday?" Chihara muttered, out, causing
Kanako to jump up, with a quick shout of "Nani nani?" Before Kanako could get
close though, Chihara cut her off.
"Sit. Down."
"Haaai." Kanako cried out, returning to the position she verified as
structurally sound and sitting down.
<Leviathan> Eeeeeh?!
<Prism> Oh, I had to make sure he managed to pull off the date on his own.
"...What." Chihara spoke it more like cold steel than a question, as Kanako
put together what was being said by Chihara's reaction.
"Ooh! The drama intensifies! Chihara-chan's got a rival!" Chihara was too
frustrated right now to bother with Kanako.
<Leviathan> ...Let me get this straight: You knew Mu was going to go on a
date, so rather than give him any advice on what to do, you banned him from the
chatroom?!
<Prism> ...Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
<Leviathan> ...Seemed like a good idea?! You can't get a dumber idea than
that! Knowing what he's like, he'll drag some poor girl off to a manga store, or
drag her off to some cosplay thing, expecting her to dress up like a catgirl and
meow!
<EmeraldBOT> Meow?
<Leviathan> ...
<Prism> ...Bringing work to your bots again I see, Emerald?
<Emerald> Yeah, it's for that new robo-cat there... we've got to program in
an entire LANGUAGE of meows so that they can communicate via meowing to add to
the realism... I thought I'd play around with it on IRC for a bit.
<Prism> Oh really, how does that work?
Chihara punched her coffee cup onto the table, shouting.
"Who the hell cares about how a robotic cat can respond to meows?!"
Naturally, Kanako responded to Chihara as soon as she finished her sentence.
"Oh, would that be the Yamataka Industries Mecha-Nya?! That thing's top
secret! I hear it's designed to be able to survive virtually anything! Maybe I
could get in on the testing phase!" With that, Chihara gulped down her coffee,
suddenly finding there to be far from enough to quiet her nerves.
"Fine, fine, whatever, talk with them as long as you like... I'm going out to
for some coffee... My laptop had better not be broken when I get back." She
muttered, exiting the dorm room as quickly as possible.
