Though Kalmar doesn�t have an international airport it is well connected by train with Stockholm, Copenhagen(kobenhavn, Denmark) and Gothenburg(Goteberg, Sweden)
It is situated about 400km from Stockholm and 300km from denmark.
Though there are flights and trains that connect Kalmar to other cities, it is better to use the train as it is cheaper and more convenient
Note : When buying a ticket for the train, ask for a 'Last minute ticket' (ONLY if you are travelling from Stockholm or Gothenburg)
Coming from Stockholm or Gothenburg (Sweden)
- > There is no direct train from the Arlanda Airport at Stockholm to Kalmar.You have to catch a train, or a bus to come to Stockholm Central. The 'Arlanda Express' plies regularly from the Airport to Central.
From there, take a regular train to Kalmar (on a Last minute ticket)
The train takes about 5 hours from the airport to Kalmar (4.5 hours from Stockholm Central)
- > From Gothenburg, take a regular train to Kalmar

- > It is better to take a train from the airport ( no last - minute tickets ) to Kalmar ( There are a number of regularly plying trains )
