Housing and Accomodation

Fact

As of June 2005, the university does not officially cater to the housing needs of free mover students ( students who apply independently ) . If you are an exchange student, however, you can contact the International Student Office to see if they have anything in store for you.

We students understand that this is the most important concern of the arriving students, and we can help you with temporary stay until you find a place for yourself.

Update
The university has some rooms for the new students - for information see
here

One way you can find a room here is using these websites of some agencies (see links below)
Unfortunately the websites are almost entirely in Swedish, and it is probably difficult to know which place is closest to the college, and how much rent is optimum.

Typical prices for rent (Hyr in Swedish) are around 1500 kr for a single room (with a shared kitchen and bathroom), and 3000-4000 kr for a flat. While Swedish regulations prohibit two people living in a single room, a flat can be shared with your friends, so the cost of rent per head comes to around 1000 1500 kr per month.

What you can do about accommodation after coming here, is you can ask at the International Student Office for rooms, look up the University Bulletin boards for vacancies, or check with your friends if you can share.
