| With his sensor scanner, Brian has spotted a sensor line through the trees and can�t find a route through it. �Fuck!� Ethan drives his Trans Am through pastures to get to a spot of small timber behind a huge field that lies behind the farm house. He looks through binoculars and can see the back of the house and its� cellar doors. Talking into his radio, Brian warns, �Ethan, hold your position. The entire area is laced with heat and motion sensors. Just a second. Em, are you there? Em, I need you to bring Jesse down to me at the tree lines. I need him to set off some sensors, so I can try to pass through them.� �Warm bodies and motion?� Emmett replies back into the radio. He looks up and sees several head of cattle grazing in the pasture that Brian is in. �Give me time to get there. I�m bringing in the herd. You heard me?� Turning off his radio, Emmett puts the radio in his pocket and grabs the revolver that Brian gave him stuffing it into his pants. �Theses foreigners are about to see what a real American cowboy can do,� he says out loud. Emmett mounts Jesse, and they head off at a full gallop. Emmett drives a herd of cattle straight into the line of tree that stands near to Jack�s hideaway. Brian can hear them before he can see them. �Yes! Em, you�re brilliant now get the hell out of there!� As the cattle run into the trees, Brian joins them in a mad dash towards the dairy farm. Ben is sitting near the computer board when it goes crazy with alarms. �Oh my God! It�s a full scale invasion!� From his position within the top of a grain silo, Ted is in sniper position. He is looking into the trees to try and see the assault team that is coming for them. A large Angus yearling is the first to break through the brush, and he bawls out his displeasure. Then several other cattle wander their way through the tree line. Ted focuses on Emmett. Into his radio, Ted yells �It�s a cows. Just cows, lots of cows and some jerk on a horse... No, I can�t get a good bead on his face and trees are blocking my shoot.� Justin can sense that something is going on. He has loosened the first and second railing and removed their nails. All that remains is the top railings and he hastens him efforts while trying to keep an eye out what�s going on. In an old chicken coop, Zach takes up his position. He can see across the entire width of the farm yard. Melanie checks her weaponry and keeps a lookout from the house window. Jack puts tape across Leda�s mouth and double checks the ropes before leaving Leda. �Ben, you�ll remain with our guest.� �Shot her if you need to,� Melanie adds. There is a massive explosion outside that shakes the small house. Blake enters the kitchen. �We have hamburger, I think.� There is another massive explosion. �Damn, Blake. How much C 4 did you put in those things,� yells Jack. As Emmett rides through shredded bodies of cattle and their five crater, Ted tries to shoot him firing at him repeatedly. Brian makes it to the edge of the tree line and is surveying the area. When he sees Ted, he waits for a clear shot, but he can fire a man fires at him from his left. He returns fire. Ted takes aim again at Emmett and shoots him causing Emmett to fall off Jesse. Brian kills the man shooting at him and fires upon Ted, but then two more men come to return fire on him and he is pinned down. Ted feels blood steaming down his face where he has been gazed by a bullet. Jack, Melanie, and Blake, who has his remote detonator, exit the back of the farm house by using the cellar. Zach watches the action calmly finishing his cigarette. Melanie, now at the side of the house, begins to fires at Brian�s position, but not hitting anything. Blake sees a car speeding through the open field towards them, but the explosive devises he has set up aren�t going off quick enough to catch the racing Trans Am. Ethan heads right for the trio. Both Melanie and Jack fire upon the car as they run form the house trying to get away. Brian finally kills one of the men shooting at him and begins to fire at Melanie, Jack, and Blake pinning them behind the house while still taking in fire from the another man. Justin has freed himself, crawled up to the top of the semi tractor trailing and sneaks out the man, who is firing at Brian. The man looks back behind to see Justin. Justin whips him in the head with the chain that he padlocked to. When the blow knocking him aside for only a second, Justin tries to take his weapon, but the man struggles to keep it. Justin whips him again and again with the chain. The man grabs onto the chain and pulls Justin down. As they struggle, Justin falls off the side of the trailer only to hang suspended by the chain about his neck. He is choking to death. The man looms over him and aims his rifle directly at his head. Ted finally sees enough of Brian to take a shoot at his chest, and he fires. Ethan drives his car straight into house hitting Blake, and Jack leaps to safety of the cellar steps. Brian lowers his rifle. The pain in his chest prevents him from being able to breath. He open his shirt. The bullet is dead center of bullet proof vest. He looks back at barn and sees Justin still dangling off the side of the trailer. Ignoring his pain, he shoots at the chains. Justin falls to the ground and lies there motionless. Ethan is badly shaken up and tries to get out of his car. Gary comes out from his hiding place and begin to fire at Brian and Ethan. Jack, cut up and bruised by his dive down the cellar steps, looks out of the cellar. Zach is circling around towards the back of the house. Ethan gets his door open and falls out of the car. He tries to get up but can�t do the bullet flying towards him, so Ethan crawls to an old pickup truck and finds Blake�s detonator. He picks it up accidently sets off some of the charges placed around the barn. Jack carefully steps out of the cellar and spots Ethan. He shoots and misses. Ethan moves as quickly as he can to get behind the pickup truck. He shoots back at Jack while trying to figure out the detonator and finally finds a disalarming switch. Brian starts to work his way across the farm yard in order to reach the barn. There are serval scared cattle still wandering around, and Brian works his way through them. Ted leans out from his location to get clear shot at Brian. Now at the edge of the trees, Emmett, with a bullet hole in his leg and holding onto Jesse�s reins, sees Ted, aims his revolver at him, closes his eyes, and shoots twice. Shot, Ted falls of the silo. Zach lowers his revolver and looks at Ted� body. Gary changes the clip in his revolver and fires at Brian and Emmett. Brian drives under a steer, rolls, and manages to make it into the barn. Zach sneaks up on Ethan. �Say, good night!� He takes his revolver and delivers a hard blow to the back of Ethan�s head. Ethan falls to the ground just as Jack rushes towards him firing repeatedly. Jack sees Zach standing near the unconscious deputy and smiles. �No one ever sees you coming , do they?� He quickly takes aim at Zach and shoots him. Zach stares in amazement at Jack as he falls to his knees. He is shot in the throat. Blood trickles down for the corner of his mouth. �All these years! You damn American! I knew Brian could never had made it so far alone.� Unable to speak and drowning in his own blood, Zach falls to the ground. Brian rushes to the unconscious Justin and pull him under the semi trailer for cover. Gently, Brian raises his head onto his hand and uses his other hand to slap his cheek. �Come on, Justin. Come on, little rabbit.� Then he grabs up Justin�s hand. His hands are still handcuffed, and he is severally bruised where the cuffs encircled his wrists. Justin�s fingers and fingernails are torn and bleeding. Brian takes out a small wire and open the lock on his handcuffs. Outside is quiet and Gary passes Ted�s body. He also sees Melanie�s body lying beside the house and smoke rising from the where the car rammed into the house, but he can�t see behind the house. Smoke is beginning to fill the house. Ben looks out a back window. He sees the bodies of his teammates and Zach dragging himself along the ground. Then he sees Gary circling around towards the back of barn. Looking back his hostage, he smiles. Heat from the engine of the Trans Am�s engine starts a fire that reaches the gas which spilled onto the ground and cause the gas tank to explode. The explosion rocks the house and sends Ben sprawling onto the floor by Leda�s feet. The smoke is really getting heavy into the room as Leda uses the rope tied around her ankles to try and strangles Ben. Justin awakens in Brian arms. �You�re here, Hugh!� �I�m the captain of the rescue squad and the name is Kyle, Justin, Kyle Peterson,� explains Brian. Justin smiles and hugs Brian. Gary enters the back door of the barn. Mounted on Jesse and lariat ready, Emmett gallops towards Gary and snags him around the neck with the lariat causing Gary to drop his gun as he lands flat on his back. Emmett ties the rode onto the saddle horn, and Jesse keeps the tension on the rope. �Justin! Justin!� he cries out. �Em! Over here!� yells Brian. Melanie listens the quiet around her then rolls to a secluded position. Making sure she isn't seen, she makes her way to Zach who is barely alive. She pulls Zach behind the cover of the old pickup truck. With tears in her eyes, she pulls Zach head onto her lap. Melanie quickly takes a knife from he r pocket and takes a ball point pin apart. Making an incision below Zach�s Adams apple and puts in the shaft of the ball point pen to allow Zach to breath. �It was you! I should leave you here to rot you two faced swine.� Zach tenderly reaches up to Melanie�s face and brushes her hair back. Brian, Justin, and Emmett carefully make their way to the barn�s front door. They hear the terrible crashing sound of shattering glass coming from the house. Brian throws Justin the ground and aims at the crashing noise. Leda, still tied to the chair inside the, tries to move herself away out of the burning house. The fire finds the last of Blake�s explosives. The house is leveled by a series of explosions. �Damn... Hey, Kyle where�s Ethan?� Emmett asks. �Ethan is here, somewhere?� Justin questions. �He drove his car into the house.� �But where is he Hu...Bri... Kyle?� Justin asks as terror fills his face. He breaks away from Brian to search for Ethan. �Justin, please...� Brian begs for Justin to stay with them, but Justin continues to head for what is left of Trans Am. Suddenly, Jack fires at Brian from his new position. Jesse backs into the line of fire still keeping the rope taunt on Gary�s lifeless body. Brian is out of ammo, and he can�t find another clip. Jack spies Justin trying to get to where Ethan is and shoots at him. �I�m going to kill that boy if it�s the...� A bullet enters his head before he can finish, and Melanie lowers her gun. With a nod from Melanie, Brian heads after Justin, but he sees Zach makes his way over to him instead. Brian yells back Emmett. �You still that cell phone I gave you.� �Yes, I have it.� Emmett pulls out the cellular phone. �Call the Sheriff. Call 911. We�re going to need an ambulance.� Then he glances at Justin. �Careful, Justin! There are explosive devises everywhere.� Looking down on Zach, he smiles. �Just hold on old friend, hold on!� Zach grabs onto Brian hand. �You were right about me. I should have taken the two hundred dollars.� ...FLASHBACK SOUTH AMERICAN HARBOR Zach with eyes now bandaged is kneeling beside a seven year old Brian who has been crying. He hands a roll of paper money in his hand. �Listen, kid, you don�t want this life. Here is just over two hundred American dollars, all the money I got on me. Take it and run. Run like hell away from here and never look back!� �He is my father,� a confused Brian replies. �He is an evil man, little Brian. Please, take the money.� �Where would I go?� Brian pushes the hand of away. �I have no one.� ...PRESENT Justin finds Ethan. He thinks he is dead. �Oh, Ethan, don�t do this,� he cries. With his eyes still closed, Ethan asks, �Justin, did we get the bastards?� Tears start to stream from Justin�s eyes. �Yes, Ethan, we got them. Oh please, hold on. Help is on it�s way. You�ll be fine,� Justin says as he rocks Ethan in his arms as he weeps. �I�m so sorry, Ethan, for everything. I�m so sorry.� Brian hurries over to where Justin and Ethan are and watches Justin holding onto Ethan for a moment before speaking. �Where is he hit?� �I don�t think I�m... it�s my head! Someone clobbered me.� �Probably Zach.� �But didn�t he just shot me. What does that mean?� �I�m sure you can figure it out,� Brian tells Ethan. Justin helps Ethan to his feet. �Oh, Ethan,� Justin sighs. Brian picks up the detonator and makes sure it is turned off before heading back towards Melanie who helping Zach to his feet. Sirens can be heard in the distance. �The explosions have alerted the natives. I�ve got to get Zach out of here. Brian, I�m going to need help.� Brian looks back Justin who has wrap himself around Ethan to help he walk. Then turns to Melanie. �It�s already on its way.� He heads to help them. �No, Hugh! Kyle, you can�t just leave now,� Justin stammers. �You�re going to be alright now, Justin. If I stay, you�ll never get your life back,� Brain says to Justin with looking back at him so that he can�t see the few tears which have escape from his eyes. Within less than a half hour, the area is filled with police cars and unmarked cars. Many people are milling about. Two ambulance attendants load Zach and Emmett into the back of the ambulance. Then the attendants load themselves into the ambulance. Melanie is one of the attendants, and David is the another one. David is behind the wheel and begins to drive off , but he is stop by an agent. The armed agent in sunglasses flashes them his badge. �And just where do you think your going?� Brian questions David. David smile at Brian. �We gotta get these men to the hospital!� �Not without some security going with you.� Brian looks at the nearest agent near him and barks, �I�ll ride in with this one. Keep an eye on them." He points at Justin and Ethan. "And where in hell is the bomb disposal unit?� Without waiting for the agent to response, Brian climb into the back of the ambulance, and ambulance takes off. Brian watches through the back window and zeros in on Justin�s face getting smaller and smaller . �Em, I�m sorry we�re not going to able to take you with us.� �Naw, it�s okay. Doc�s got the bleeding stopped. Just let me out anywhere up the road. I�ll be fine. I�ll tell �em you held a gun on me. " The agent, who Brian had talk to, looks around at all the people who are present and scratches his head. �Wait a minute! Just who the hell was that guy who got in the ambulance just now.� Justin and Ethan look at each another. Justin shrugs his shoulders as Ethan replies, �Wasn�t he one of your guys?� Ethan grabs the teary eyed Justin and pulls him in. Justin rests his head on Ethan's chest. �Everything is alright, Justin, you no longer have to run. You are safe now.� |
