HI I'M HOMELESS, and my name is David Segobia, my wifes name is Barbara. We just rescently arrived in Modesto, Ca. carrying 4 bags filled with our belongings, not having anywhere to go except the Mission.
A newfound friend gave  us a babystroller to carry our bags more easily. We then, proceeded to immediatly look for employment, while walking all over town, pushing the stroller with our things in it. We soon found employment through Valley Staffing, a temp service in Modesto, and Del Monte Foods where we would be on call for the season. We managed to acquire bicycles for transportation and after working awhile, we purchased a nice, white, van for $400.00 dollars. The next thing to do was to apply, and qualify for Low Cost Housing through the City-Parks and Recreation. We believe to have a home very soon.  Our plans are to attend Church regularly, and serve God with all of our heart.  I, David Segobia, believe other people can make it through their hard times too.  My wife and I are going through hard times and we're making it by the grace of God. Going to Church, and being lifted up and filled with Gods spirit, gave us the faith and power to go and recieve what he has given to all of those who believe in the only begotten son of God, (Jesus Christ).   Please don't give up.  God bless you.
I used to work the graveyard shift at a radio station. I got off work every day at 6 a.m. in the morning. On my way home one particular morning, I noticed a man on the side of the road. I pulled over and saw that he was crying. He told me that he had been kicked out of a Denny's for the way he looked. He agreed to go to another restaurant with me. As we ate he unfolded an old Bible that was wrapped into his chest. We shared about God and life. He told me he had once not believed in God and one day he decided to read the Bible. He picked it up and could not stop reading until he was done. The Bible was precious to him. Circumstances in his life led him to being homeless but he was now reaching out to God. I was changed by his faithful witness, and was thankful for meeting this extraordinary human being. We finished our meal, then we both went our seperate ways. I'll never forget Art. Doubt not, that you can help others, no matter who or where you are.   Chris  Whitler

I know what it's like to be poor and homeless. Some people are kind, but everyone else, including people with homes, aren't very nice at all. Infact, most people these days are down right evil. It's best to stay away from them. One thing I've learned in Modesto is to have patience. There are resources available here.   Christopher Roybal

As you read, please think about the position you are in today, for better or worse. With God, the worst is better for you, than without God.You haven't been to the bottom. Please lift you're being to accept the final truth. With Jesus, be all you can be in America. Put yourself where you don't want to be. Think about where you would find yourself, should you be in that thought. We are no better than those under us, and yet, in God, they rule. Bang up! Put in with Jesus, the glowing path to heaven.    Byron  A.  Ostrowsky
Trailing Off The Path Of Thought
Individuals, often find themselves in bad situations because of their own choosing. Subconsciously, puting their life on hold and wanting so desperately to be fixed, but not knowing how or why, they simply exist. We have trailed off the path of responcibility that we have with God.   JAMES  M.  FLAHERTY
