NEWSPAPER
I believe that this county should provide homeless people more opportunities for a job. There isn't very much hope for the homeless in this respect, and has been a long time problem that needs to be properly adressed. How about working for stamps and housing? Isaac Avendano~
The Word: Romans 6:6-8 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. And scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. It's hard for me to imagine that the Lord cared enough for me to die such a horrible death, knowing that for forty years I would lie, cheat, drink, lust after things that weren't mine and do anything but bow down to Him. I did a lot of horrible things before I stepped out of the darkness and into the Light. By His grace I don't look back and dwell on what I can't change, but I pray that in what's left of my time here someone will here my pleas and turn to Him, as He told the adulteress at the well in John 8:12 "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." Call upon His name my friends; in hope that you will be saved. Chaplain Fred T. Ennenga
If your respectful and go by the library rules, it doesn't matter who you are. Everyone can be welcome at the Stanislaus County Library. We do not discriminate. A Fair Person
The library has been pretty cool. They haven't complained about my small cart I bring inside. I keep it nice, tidy, and well organized so it isn't an eye sore. And I don't bother anyone either. David Smith
The library is a good place to utilize your time while staying out of the bad, winter weather. A lot of homeless people would never think of a computer, but being in their situation causes them to come in contact with all the things the library has to offer. Education can come from circumstance. Rudolph Martinez
The library needs better lighting, less noise, D.V.Ds to rent, more computers, more workers with computer experience, more out of town newspapers, softer chairs. Dan The Man
Carlos, a security guard at the Stanislaus County Library, has a bad attitude problem when it comes to interacting with the homeless. There was a certain incident just lately, where he became physicaly violent towards a homeless man who was at the library. Words were exchanged between Carlos and the homeless man, then Carlos shoved him backwards and said, "I'll kick your ******* after work." " Be here at 5:00 p.m.." Keith Dawson
| The Stanislaus County Library is home base for the hiimhomeless website, and where it has been created and worked on for almost two years now. By offering these computer services and assistance from many of the library workers, hiimhomeless has been able to establish a voice in this community that is heard. And it also allows many homeless and non-homeless people to give their feelings and opinions on different issue's and problems this county faces. Everyone has a right to be treated farely. If you would like to enter a statement for the monthly hiimhomeless newspaper, send it to [email protected]. As long as it is not too offensive or cruel, we will be glad to print your statement.
