The Word: Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him. Mathew 2:1-2   Wise men indeed!  How many of us have taken time today to thank God for everything, including Jesus?  With Thanksgiving over and Christmas on the way what a great opportunity to get on our knees and thank Him for all we do have and not complain for what we do not have.
For those of you who do not know Jesus, turn from your sinful ways and believe He is your Lord and your only hope of heaven. Call upon His name that you might be saved.  Fred t. Ennenga
Christmas:   Christians have been celebrating Christmas since 200 AD. "Christ's Mass", honoring the nativity of Jesus, was chosen to be near the time of winter solstice. No one is quite sure of the exact date Jesus was born but this time of year was a great time to pick to celebrate it. In the northern hemisphere (where the observance began), the winter solstice is the shortest, darkest day of the year and happens usually around the week of Christmas. So all through the season of advent (the time of waiting and expectation) the days get darker and then Christmas comes and from then on, the days start to get longer and the light gets stronger.
     HI I'M HOMELESS Newspaper
Many have been turned off by our capitalistic culture taking advantage of the beautiful story of Christ's birth. But if we are careful to not get carried away, this is a time when our society remembers what is important...family, caring for one another, being generous and looking out for the less fortunate. These are all things we can do even if we do not have a cent in our pocket. This Christmas, soak up the season by looking out for others. Look for ways to give without thinking of what you will get. Just like God, who gave his Son to us as the greatest gift of all.

"Can you possibly imagine how a homeless person must feel, when they walk through the neighborhood and see the christmas tree's fully dressed with ornaments, and colorful blinking lights outside the house's?" "Thinking of the warmth and love that those families will share, this homeless person suddenly realizes that they aren't welcome there." "With thoughts of past family experiences (if any), they walk away in the cold, dark silence- thinking of how it might have been, and hoping next Christmas to be part of that merry scene."    Bob  Glenn
"We're getting ready to go shopping. Christmas is cool, but it's all about Jesus." Chuck Osburne
