painted walls
and a decorated house
all a beauty to my eye
walk down the streets of the fanciest neighborhoods
the most perfect place to live
a cubic bit of heaven on earth
so it seems
beyond the green lawns
and colorful flowers
beyond painted walls
and built fences
lies a housewife
killing her self with pharmaceutical
a father beating his 9 year old sun
a teenage girl slitting her wrists
all this locked behind a beautiful house
an illusion on display for passerbys to see
while the horrid truth lies deep inside
