Natural Behavior

Patch of green
in a sea of cement.
Cracks on concrete
Cracks that lead to dirt.
Dirty men cross the streets
pushing shopping carts of cans.
Beer spilled.
Puddle of yellow liquid.
A fallen man upon the ground.
Children running about
aging quickly.
Gun shots.
Female moans.
A child cries at his loss...
innocence is gone
guilty is the man
killed by an injection
Junkie in the basement
Bottle cap over a fire.
A burning cigarette in a mans
mouth
greasy burgers down a throat.
Clogs in veins.
Unhealthy plumbing.
Overflowing toilets.
Feces on the tile.
Butcher shops are closing.
Bloodstains on clothes
no longer that of slaughtered cattle.
Far have we come
little have we traveled.
A civil world
with fierce wars.
Talking with guns
and bombs.
Explosions on land
in the mind
as the drugs hit the head
A dealer sells crack to a child.
Little girl in school sniffing away.
A boy gets a fail on his math test.
