Fellow Addictions

You think its easy I think its not
Addictions are easy to come by
But hard for loss.
Yes a needle brings me joy
But what of you
A family, home and car
That is what addicts you.
You obsess on those as I on these
-Two small bags of fairy dust
Which always sets me free-

Your addiction ties you down
As does mine.
You constantly worry about paying bills
As I worry about scoring hits.

Dont you see?
Im no different than thee
And although you say you hate me
I know I feel you with glee.
My shabby clothes
And awful manner
Make your coat and tie offly
Nicer.

For when you pass me on the street
I know your glad youre not me.
As I am glad not being you.
