Fated Apple

Destiny holds her
Keeps her in a cage
Without a key
Hidden deep in halls of history.
Seems to me
That life always keeps happiness
Out of mans reach.
I wish to the return to the simple times
Where mans path was to live in luxury
With her eve
In the untouch gardens.
But the american way has steamrolled
That vegetaion
Now factories and office buildings
Replace the endless fields
And cool swimming holes.
What happened to enjoying the breath of the wind
Under the shade of unnamed and unclassified trees?
A simple pleasure.
Quite relaxing.
So relaxing.
I can feel my heart thumping to a tired beat.
So mellow
So calm.
I think my heart could stop
And I wouldnt care.
Should life be this way?
Maybe I should have gone to the doctor
And wasted my weeks pay
On a 15 minute analysis
To conclude that a single red pill
Will keep me alive in the factories
For another 50 years.
Maybe I can retire when im 60
Than wait to die
In a hospital bed
And not under that fated apple tree.
