f) ICBC new license format: Kevin Moore has been in contact with Mike Rice (NHRA) and Ron Farmer in regards to this issue.  This is not only a B.C. problem, as some of the States are also making similar changes to their licensing programs.  Some of the idea’s being throw around at the moment are to develop a similar system to getting a competition license, (3 passes, supervised by track officials to obtain a license) would require a student to become a NHRA member.  Members asked Kevin to also forward the idea of allowing a 25 years old licensed driver to make passes with a L student in time trials only.  It was also suggested that we forward our concerns to the government on how this has affected our programs.

g) Helmet Order: Doug Anderson will be making a helmet order in Jan.  Order forms were distributed at the meeting will be in the next newsletter.  Doug has previously sent out an email to all members with current email addresses with the association.

i) Canada Engine Rebuild Kit: the association has acquired another rebuild kit for sale through the association. ($350)  Contact:  Ted Anderson (Mission) if you are interested.  All funds from this sale go towards the scholarship fund.

a) Membership: the association grew by a few members last year. We are back up to similar numbers from a few years ago after the strike action by the BCTF.

b) Scholarships: The second BCSSMA (Canada Engines) Scholarship was presented at the July Race to Jordan Penner from Sardis Sec.  The BCSSMA Scholarship Fund is growing but is not at the point that we can offer a BCSSMA Scholarship from the interest. Members start thinking about getting your students to apply for the 2004 Scholarships.  Application forms are available on our web page.

c) Promotional Video: - In progress - K. Moore and D. Anderson have been collecting video over the last year and are working with the format that was established at the December meeting in 2001.  The next step could happen within the next year.  Some people expressed that we should be paying someone to finish this project.  Some people will be making a few inquires into the costs.
