What dog is
bred the way we are told? Seems like no dog is bred the way we are told
anymore. It isn't only with a couple dogs that you have question marks
circulating.........
Part
of what's Posted on PO:
Ultimately,
we as buyers of someone else's dogs, from someone else's breeding program,
have to rely on the honesty and integrity of the breeder from whom we are
purchasing our pup(s) or our grown dog(s). With some breeders this is no
problem; with other breeders that's like trusting a fox in a hen house
- they'll paper a dog "like you want it" paapered, just to get the sale.
As a buyer of what you REALLY want (not what is falsely represented as
such) this of course is unacceptable and an outrage. Nothing is more disappointing
and angering than if you later find out you've been scammed, even if the
dog turns out to be a good one. Well, what can you do to protect yourself
as a buyer of what you REALLY want? There are a few things you can do to
better your chances of getting a correctly-papered bulldog. They are:
-
BE
EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS if a breeder single-registers his dogs. Old
Man Hollingsworth told me that is the classic stamp of the paper-hanger,
and if you think about it, it's true. If a man makes a habit of registering
WHOLE LITTERS then he has to account for each and every pup born - and
he cannot later come up with a "new" pup out of that litter, since it is
already registered. HOWEVER ... if a man single-registers all of his dogs,
that means he makes up the paperwork for you RIGHT THERE on the dog you
want. Since there was no documented record (in the form of a whole litter
registration) as to how many dogs were actually in that litter ... there
is nothing preventing the breeder from adding "one more" to the list ...
papered just the way the customer wanted that pup bred. This brings us
to ...
-
If you
"have" to go to a breeder who single-registers his dogs, NEVER state to
that breeder what you want PRIOR to seeing his yard. Go over the breedings
of the dogs available FIRST, and then select the dog you want AFTER he
tells you how it's bred. You are much more likely to get a true pedigree
that way ... than if you came over to the yard, and before seeing a thing
said, "I'm looking for a dog off of so-and-so bred to so-and-so." If you
come up and say something like this out of the gate, and you are dealing
with a guy who single registers each dog sold at the time of purchase,
BELIEVE ME, you are more apt to get a dog "bred just like that" ... than
if you walk around and ask for pedigrees first.

With
every line & many good dogs someone questions it's breeding, but the
FACT is that none of us know the truth unless we witnessed the tie or you
DNA the parents & the offspring or you bred it yourself.
If you
weren't there & you didn't breed it then you can't be 100% sure, PERIOD!!!!!
The rumors will persist.... Some are true too & some aren't..... While
there are many paper hangers out there, there are also many ENVIOUS people
that will start rumors & spread LIES about some dogs for no reason.
Especially people on the Internet which is full of people who love to pass
judgements and put down other's dogs behind a keyboard. Most don't even
know the person or the dogs they are talking about, but they feel they
have the right to give their opinion lol... It's funny how some people
think they know more about someone else's dogs than their own owners. We'll
never understand why anyone cares what's on anyone else's yard.... We have
so many outsiders that hate us as a whole, we should try to stick together
and stay united for the dogs, instead of always bashing one another and
talking crap behind people's backs and trying to ruin the reputation of
people and their dogs, for no reason. It's always the he said-she said
bull... *THAT DOG SUCKS* ...*THAT DOG ISN'T BRED THAT WAY*... *I HEARD
THIS*... *I HEARD THAT* Jezus unless someone's on your yard 24/7 NO ONE
knows your dogs. Besides it's no one's business, but the person feeding
the dog, it's 2003 folks, wake up!!! Everyone chooses to work, show,
feed & breed what they like. If it's not for you don't buy it, don't
feed it... PERIOD!!! Worry about your own dogs... There's enough garbage
to deal with when you own this breed!!!!
