It was the Summer of ’69…

Hi Phil.  

I enjoyed reading your recap of the '69 replay.  There must be something about those Pirates, 

because my friend and I replayed the National League only from '69 by hand a few years back, 

and the Pirates won our league as well. Clemente actually hit .402 for us and led the Pirates to a

divisional crown.They then beat the West champion Reds in 5 games to advance to the Series.

We always intended to finish the NL and then play the AL and have a Series, but time and life 

got in our way. To this day, that league has no world champion.  Anyway, I appreciate you 

sharing your story and thought I would share mine.
