Me in Armour! (Armour, courtesy of Crimson Kate!)

Welcome to Gabrielle's Keep.
This site will reflect my affiliation with the Society for Creative Anachronism, fondly known as theSCA. The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international organization dedicated to researching and recreating pre-17th-century European history. The "Known World" is divided into 16 Kingdoms. Each Kingdom is ruled by a King and Queen who won these titles in Battle. I live in the East Kingdom in a small region called theBarony of Settmour Swamp.
Alright on to more things.....
Being the Scot that I am, ever since I was a wee lass, I've loved all things Scottish and Medieval. I have found a "place" in this world where I can go and meet others who share those same interests and MORE!! This "Place" is called the SCA or the Society for Creative Anachronism Check out their site and let me know what ya think. It's really a great organisation and the people are AWESOME! I live in an area known in the SCA as The Barony of Settmour Swamp
My persona within the SCA is a young, married woman from Achnasheen, Scotland. She lives in the time of William Wallace, 1270 - 1305.( I am still doing research on this and haven't figured out all the details of my life yet!) I am using the tools that the SCA has provided and have found some other usefull links as well.
- Heraldry: A branch of knowledge dealing with the history and description in proper terms of armorial bearings and their accessories.
- The Academy of Saint Gabriel: Their primary purpose is to assist members of the Society for Creative Anachronism to find historically accurate medieval names and coats of arms for use in SCA activities.
- Code Warrior'Chain Mail: A great site to see how Chain Mail is made and also takes you through steps on how to make your own.
- Medieval Scotland: This is a collection of articles and resources aimed at anyone interested in Scotland between A.D. 500 and 1603. (From about when the King of Dl Riata moved from Ireland to Argyll to when King James VI of Scotland inherited the English throne.)
- What in the world is WOAD?: Well don't just sit there thinking about it...Click the link! SHEESH!
