Rules and FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Although the HIC staff is very selective and particular in the handlers/wrestlers that they sign to the HIC, meaning most adhere to the "universal" e-fed rules that we have all picked up along the way...there are bound to be at least a couple of rules that all of you will find foreign.

For your benefit we ask that you read the rules, and bring any questions or discrepancies to our attention. Thank you.

Interviewing Rules:

1. Impersonating (imping) of another handlers wrestler, without their consent, is strictly prohibited. .

2. To go along with rule-one the use of another handlers wrestler, without their consent, is also strictly prohibited. Let us point out when we say wrestlers that also includes managers, and any "front office" characters the staff of the HIC may create to participate in the federation on an in-character level. Now keep in mind an easy way to get around this is to simply ask. I know that most of the front office will gladly let you use their characters so long as they know what you are going to do.

3. While it's quite alright to take a quote from another wrestlers interview and place it in yours to make a point...it is not all right to make minor changes to another wrestlers interview and repost it as yours. Though it's doubtful we'll run into this problem...we felt inclined to put it down here. Also while on the subject of editing. If you post an interview and you saying something stupid, and someone calls you on it, then don't go back and edit your interview to fix the mistake! This will be looked down upon strongly.

4. No excessive foul language. We will let you know when it's becoming excessive. With that said, I think we are pretty liberal providing a) we aren't offended b) we haven't gotten a complaint about your posts from another member.

5. No "bad taste". Meaning there's a thin line between what's interesting and what's done for pure shock value. So the areas you need to be careful around? Anything involving race, sexual orientation, sexual situations, death, murder, and well there's a lot more, but again the front office is there to help sort all this out. Not to say that all of the above is strictly off limits. Just use your judgement.

6. Do not break kayfabe. Meaning...to your character the HIC is very much real. And that in turn means your character is real. How he interviews is how he is on and off the cameras. Your wrestler is never instructed to "job". If he loses he loses. If he wins he wins. To your character it's all real and there's nothing false about the sport.

7. To elaborate even more on rule 6...keeping with the aspect that this is all real...when posting interviews, and replying to them...be logical about the period of time that is required to pass for a segment of footage to make it to the airwaves, and for your character to get a hold of another camera crew to make a reply.

8. More elaboration...What you the handler reads in the Interview Room...is what your character watches. Your character is not reading the interviews he is watching them, and for that reason do not, do not, correct a wrestler on his spelling or make mention of the "images" in his interview. Your wrestler sees none of this but what his opponent is describing in his interview.

9. Nine is an over rated number. Actually it was a rule from the UW where this template came from that I don't agree with.

10. There is no fixed role playing deadline. That being said, there will be a point, on the night of the card when I will arbitrarily post a statement on the board that the RPing for that event is over. This is to allow people a time when they can 'relax' and to discourage last minute RPers. If you start a RP at 10:00 the night of the card, and my post comes up before then, don't expect any sympathy from anyone.

11. No OOC comments in the Interview Room. That's why we have an OOC board.

12. We discourage the use of any real wrestlers name within the HIC. Considering the WWF is scripted...it wouldn't make sense for the wrestlers in the HIC, who are fighting for real, to even look at the WWF or any other "real" wrestling division as legitimate. So to make things simple for everyone...the only wrestling federations that exist in the HIC world...are on the internet.

13. Backing up to the deadline thing. Don't wait until the last minute, here's why. Believe it or not, the front office makes up their mind as to who is going to win a match, and what strats are to be used approximatley two days before the card. Now this doesn't mean that our decision is final, however if we haven't heard anything from you, we're not going to give you or your match very much heat, priority or effort. As a rule of thumb, if you haven't RPed by 9 AM the morning before the card, your fate is our hands. If all participants in a match haven't RPed by this time, then you never know what might happen, we might use your match to 'put over' someone else instead and have it not happen. So the moral of the story is, for the love of god, don't wait until the last minute to post.

Determining Factors:

1. It should be noted that in most cases the President decides the outcome of the matches. If he is stuck he will then turn to other members of the staff for second opinions to help break ties.

2. Overall it's the quality of your role plays and not the quantity, and that quantity encompasses both length and amount of rp's. What's ideal to us is a handler that puts up his best work, and stays consistent. Maybe you don't rp every day, but by the same rate you don't go a whole week without a single rp only to get something up at the last minute.

3. Strategies. Occasionally someone will send in a strategy, and its whole purpose will be to cause your wrestler to use. That being said Strats will never affect the outcome of a match We at HIC don't feel it is fair to let strats affect the outcome of your matches.

4. Angles. Very rarely will we ever decide the outcome of a match based on an angle we can see developing, but occasionally if we're trying to help a wrestler build a little heat we may let an angle determine the matches. But RPing will still be the main factor. One situation where an angle will affect the outcome of a match is when all participants agree to an ending to a match.

5. On card interviews will not be considered as a role play for a match.

6. There are no rankings in HiC. Any sort of 'order' on the records page is random. Actually, it's probably in order from oldest to newest.

Angle, Story, and Strategy Rules:

1. It's always a good idea to run any type of angle, story, or strategy by the President and Commissioner first. In the end they decide what gets on the card.

2. This also means that just because you send in an interview or strategy in...it may not get used. Our goal is to create a card that flows well, and so if there are three-people that want to interview right after the main event...chances are only the best is going to get the interview spot.

3. Speaking of on card interviews. They are a right and not a privilege.  If you work for us in the interview room then that vastly improves your chances of getting an interview on a card.

4. Time limit for card strategies is The day before the card by midnight. If you are interfering in a match, we'd like to have that by Tuesday midnight, since we will be writing the cards then. Anything received after that may or may not be used. It's at the staffs discretion.

5. If you are sending in a on-card attack on someone, I strongly suggest that you include them in the email. Especially if you wrote it out and it involves their reactions. The purpose of on-cards is to create angles, not to make your opponent look like a bitch.

OOC Rules:

1. The handler does not have the right to make a public statement on the role playing ability of others. That's the HIC's Staff's job. This includes, 'I thought I out RPed so-and-so.'

2. No calling the President a Mexican Hermaphrodite.

3. If after an event you are unhappy with the result...bring your complaint to the President of HIC by email or IM. Voicing your complaints on the OOC board usually don't help the situation, and in fact, more often then not, start ooc fights that pull attention away from the interview room.

4. Do not harass your fellow handlers through e-mail or instant messaging system.  Everyone's here to play a game and they don't need to be harassed.

Title Rules:

HIC World Title: Must be defended at every PPV and at-least one weekly-card between PPV's. Roughly that equals 8-defenses a year. However, the HIC staff has the right to book the champion in more matches throughout the year. This is the big daddy of them all, it symbolizes the person who has done a lot for HiC, inside and outside the ring. As such, you can't waltz in and hold the World title. You need to work your way up the ranks. As such, you must have held at least one other title before you win the World title. You might get a shot at it, but you won't win it, unless you've done your time.

HIC World Tag-Team Titles: Must be defended at every PPV, and at-least one-weekly card between PPV's. Roughly that equals 8-defenses a year. However, the HIC staff has the right to book the champion in more matches throughout the year.

HIC ??? Title: This title does not exist yet. It will be instated when we have 15 members.

HIC Twister Title: Must be defended at every twister event. No exceptions.

HIC Tempest Title: Must be defended at every Tempest event. No exceptions.

HIC Trash-N-Thrash Title: Must be defended at every PPV, and at-least two-weekly cards between PPV's. Roughly that equals 12-defenses a year. However, the HIC staff has the right to book the champion in more matches throughout the year. This is a hardcore title, and as a result standard hardcore rule apply (or lack thereof)

HIC Orange Fruit Drink Title: Must be defended at every PPV and at-least one weekly-card between PPV's. Roughly that equals 8-defenses a year. However, the HIC staff has the right to book the champion in more matches throughout the year.
