why no Backgammon graphics
I agree - as an avid Backgammon player who often loses
I'd like to see blood-red graphics to cheer me up on the
rare occasions I win (you listening Dana?) Seems a bit
unfair the chess players get all the fun.

I need anyone that really knows backgammon

to be a host at the clubhouse on This Sunday.. @ 10am to 11 am... IYT time. Oh.. and unfortunately Webtv.. cannot be used due to the design of the chat room, sorry.. If you are able to give some suggestions.. and hints and maybe help those really wanting to learn the game.. it would be much appreciated. And, if you aren't a member yet.. to the clubhouse.. it is free.. what are you waiting for... and Webtv.. users.. also can be members.. they just can't get into the chatroom... come see us....

Two Indians and a Hillbilly were walking in the woods, all of a sudden one of the Indians ran up a hill to the mouth of a
small cave. "Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!" he called into the cave and then he listened very closely until he heard a answering, "Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!" He tore off his clothes and ran into the cave.

The Hillbilly was puzzled and asked the other Indian what that was all about, was the other Indian crazy or what? "No,"said the Indian. "It is our custom during mating season when Indian men see cave, they holler 'Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!' into the opening. If they get an answer back, it means there is a girl in there waiting to mate." Just then they saw another cave. the Indian ran up to the opening of the cave, and hollered, "Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!" Immediately,there was an answering Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!" from deep inside the cave. He tore off his clothes and ran into the cave.

The Hillbilly wandered around in the woods alone for a while, and then he came upon a great big cave. As he looked in amazement at the size of the huge opening, he was thinking, "Hoo, man! Look at the size of this cave! It is bigger than those the Indians found.
There must be some really big, fine women in this cave!" He stood in front of the opening and hollered with all his might "Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!" He grinned and closed his eyes in anticipation, and then he heard the answering call, "WOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOO!" With a gleam in his eyes and a
smile on his face, he raced into the cave, tearing off his clothes as he
ran.
The following day, the headline of the Local Newspaper read....
"NAKED HILLBILLY RUN OVER BY FREIGHT TRAIN."

I know this is a bit late getting out to you I had been struck down with fever last night and decided to turn in early... I guess reprocussions of having elementary kids.
In this weeks news I have put in a poll, after it was suggested by Kid_at_heart. I think I will do this every month on the last week of the Month.. It will help break out the hum-drum of same old categories.. I think it will be interesting to find out the answers and talley it up..
Dano has written a very nice section as well... ;) and I have the information to the65thsquare - a chess site that looks in my opinion to be very well done.. If you are into Chess.. and even if you would like to learn more... just click on the link... tell em that IYT Town sent you.. :)

My remarks, today are influenced by some anxious moments
while waiting for getting connected to our game server ...

Forfeiting a game due to exceeding the granted reflection
time, always is annoying, it happened a few times to me also.

As an iyt-beginner I didn't realize that the time left,
displayed on the status page is just a minor defined value.
E.g. if it switched at midnight, from 1h left to 0h - I assumed
having 60 minutes to go yet ... wrong ! as I painfully experienced.

Indeed only the date given below the diagram of your game
>>>>>> "must move 'til" <<<<<< counts ... don't trust the
status page display ! After my first loss due to this odd
effect I suggested in a message to iyt-websupport to add the
same symbols already used for the buddy list - like 5 mins,
15 mins, 30 mins left before forfeit ... or, tune the rules
like as in correspondence chess, means 1st violation of your
reflection time inflicts a warning and the 2nd finally loses.

The response didn't show particulary high interest in trying
to implement these changes very quickly ... ;)

Although I became more careful after this event the embarassing
experience of a forfeit happened yet, twice to me ... A few weeks
ago the status page was newly arranged and the display of games
in progress, usually sorted by date to move, got messed up for
some days, so my system to just check the topmost game failed ...

And finally on my birthday I didn't realize that I had to move in
the first half hour of the new day, though I remembered the date.
When I had been done with the phone calls arriving, it already was
too late, oh well, onto that an - for me at least - important
theoretical 'discussion' with turtlemage, since we had picked up
a position which I reflected as playable, inspiring him to heavily
kick my butt ... so I really tried to utilize every day of my time
risking to much thus - concluding I would strongly recommend you
all to move one day before it becomes critical in regular games !

I hope having been able to share some occurances you might wish to
