This is the Hand Car that Lionel^� Trains, Inc. issued in 1987 as an exact replica of the original Lionel^� post-war Hand Car marketed by the original Lionel^� Corporation in the late 1960s just a few years before Lionel^� Corp. sold the company to General Mills Corporation. The side panel on the box reads: "The Lionel^� Hand Car is back! After 20 years, everyone's favorite novelty car is back on the rails. Modern materials and a more efficient drive system make it better than ever. The car's operators pump vigorously, propelling the car along the track.
These Lionel^� Operating Hand Cars are mint, each packaged in its original box--they were recently re-discovered in our massive warehouse archives. The Operating Hand Car operates equally well on "O" and "O27" track, regardless of the track manufacturer (e.g. Lionel^�, K-Line^� , Atlas^�, Gargraves^�, etc.).
