History - Kuronue was the second partner of Youko Kurama (after Yomi). When helping him with a certain heist, the pendant that he always carries with him was broken. It flew off, and Kuronue went to go get it. Youko tried to stop him, but the chimera youkai got impaled by stalks of bamboo, killing him thusly. A long time later, after Youko had inhabited the body of Shuuichi Minamino, he was confronted by a shapeshifting demon who took on the form of Kuronue so that Kurama wouldn't attack him. Kurama finally killed him when he made the mistake of throwing away the pendant and attacking Kurama from behind, which the real Kuronue would never have done.
