Summer Camps Summer Camps That Are Good (Or not...)

I am listing summer camps in no particular order. (* = day camp ; ** = overnight camp)

1) Hidden Villa (**) I have been going to this camp since I was 9, hence the name of my page hiddenvill(a)er1990. It's a great camp to build friendships within a group of 15 or so people, do farm stuff, get away from everything, go on a backpacking trip, and do great activities. Great camp (my favorite camp)! Located in Los Altos Hills, CA near Palo Alto.

2) Cazadero Performing Arts Camp (**) If you are a young musician, whether you only have a year of practice or many, Cazadero is the best place for not only the music, but the environment there. You sleep outside in a bunch of redwoods, and have a bunch of activities. You practice a lot, but you get 1 or 2 electives (Jazz Band, Practice, Small Ensemble, etc.). In addition, they also have a family camp, which I have not been to.

3)Footfire Soccer Day Camp (*) This is a sort of low key soccer camp. It is fun, because you learn new things, play a lot of games, and there is pretty good food. They serve you food there, while it is a day camp. Warning: Low supervision.

4) Camp Chrysalis (**). This has no webpage, but it has an email address and phone number (510) 843-6157Lee Tempkin, Camp Director. This camp is full of singing, backpacking, good food, tenting out with your friends, hikes. Warning: No running water (this means no showers, but they do have things to wash your hands with).

5) YMCA Camp(*) This camp is ok. It's fun because the one I went to you checked out different places in the Bay Area (i.e. Iceland, Raging Waters, Great America, etc.). Nice day camp.

That is my list of summer camps. Hope this helps you.
