Andrast: Meaning 'long-shore' in Sindarin. This area of land, which ended in the Cape of Andrast , divided the western end of the Bay of Belfalas from Belegaer, the great Sea.

Anfalas: Meaning 'long-shore' in Sindarin; called Langstrand in Westron. A coastal area located between the rivers Lefnui and Morthond. This region was a fief of Gondor.

An�rien: Meaning 'sun-land' in Sindarin; called Sunlending in Rohirric. The area of Gondor east and south of Rohan, north of the Erui and west of the Anduin. In origin the domain of An�rion. The capital and mayor city of the region was Minas Tirith. The region contained a lot of fertile farmland and the Druadan Forest.

Arnach: See Lossarnach.

Bay of Belfalas: The great bay of Belegaer, the great Sea, located between Gondor and Umbar. Also called the Bay of Bel.

Belfalas: The beautiful coastal area of Gondor, located between the rivers Gilrain and Morthond. The chief city of the area was Dol Amroth. The area was a fief of Gondor and was ruled by the Princes of Dol Amroth.

Blackroot Vale: Located in southern Gondor, this was the valley of the upper part of the river Morthond. The Erech was in this valley. It was also called Morthond Vale.

Dor-en-Ernil: Meaning 'land of the prince' in Sindarin. Region of Gondor located west of the Gilrain.

Field of Celebrant: Located between the Silverlode and Limlight, these grasslands were the site of the Battle of the Field of Celebrant in TA 2510.

Hallows: .

Harondor: Meaning 'south Gondor' in Sindarin; called South Gondor in Westron. Area of land located between the Harnen and the Poros. Early in the Third Age it was a part of Gondor, but after that it became a land debated between Gondor and the Haradrim.

Imloth Melui: A valley in Gondor which was noted for its roses. Perhaps located in the Arnach region.

Rivers

Anduin: Meaning 'great-river' in Sindarin. Flowing about 1500 miles from its far northern sources to its delta in the Bay of Belfalas, the Anduin was the greatest river of north-western Middle-earth. An�rien, Ithilien and much of Lebennin were drained by the Anduin and its main tributaries, the Celebrant, Entwash, Erui, Gladden, Limlight, Morgulduin, Poros and Sirith.

Blackroot: See Morthond.

Celos: Located in the south of Gondor. It had its sources in the Ered Nimrais from were it flowed into the Sirith. Also called Kelos.

Ciril: A river in the Lamedon region, were it flowed into the Ringl�. Also called Kiril.

Erui: River flowing from Lossarnach into the Anduin. It formed the southern boundary of Ithilien.

Gilrain: Located in Lebennin. It had its source in the Ered Nimrais from were it flowed south until entering the Bay of Belfalas just west of the Mouths of Anduin. Its main tributary was the Serni.

Great River: See Anduin.

Greyflood: See Gwathlo.

Gwathlo: Name used by some people for the large river which was formed by the junction of the Mitheithel and Glanduin. It marked the boundary between Minhiriath and Enedwaith. Called Greyflood in Westron.

Harnen: Meaning 'south-water' in Sindarin. It flowed westward to the Bay of Belfalas from its source in the southern Ephel D�ath. It formed the boundary between Gondor and the kingdoms of Harad in the early Third Age.

Kelos: See Celos.

Kiril: See Ciril.

Lefnui: Located in western Gondor. The river had its source in the western Ered Nimrais from were it flowed south and west into the Sea.

Mountains

Amon D�n: Meaning 'silent mount' in Sindarin. Hill located east of the Druadan Forest. The site of Gondor's first northern beacon-towers. Also called D�n.

Amon Hen: Meaning 'hill of the eye' in Sindarin. One of the three peaks at the southern end of the Nen Hithoel, on the west bank of the Anduin. On top of the hill the Seat of Seeing was built. Called the Hill of Sight in Westron or, less commonly, the Hill of the Eye.

Amon Lhaw: Meaning 'hill of the ear' in Sindarin. One of the three peaks at the southern end of the Nen Hithoel, on the east bank of the Anduin. On top of the hill a high seat was built, most likely called the Seat of Hearing. Called the Hill of Hearing in Westron.

Emyn Arnen: Meaning 'hills of the royal water'(?) in Sindarin. Hills located in South Ithilien across the Anduin from Minas Tirith. After the WR it became the dwelling-place of the Princes of Ithilien.

Emyn Muil: A rough hill-country located on either sides of the Anduin above the Rauros waterfalls. It consisted mostly of sharp ridges and deep valleys which ran north and south.

Ephel D�ath: Meaning 'outer-fences dark-shadow' in Sindarin. A great mountain-chain which formed the west and south borders of Mordor. In the north it met the Ered Lithui at Cirith Gorgor and Isenmouthe. Called the Mountains of Shadow or the Shadowy Mountains in Westron.

Erech: Hill located in Lamedon. On it stood the Stone of Erech. The Dead Men of Dunharrow haunted Erech throughout the Third Age. Also called the Hill of Erech.

Ered Nimrais: Meaning 'white horn mountains' in Sindarin. A snow-covered mountain chain that was a part of Gondor. It ran westward from Minas Tirith almost to the Sea. In the Third Age it was mostly the site of refuges from the Rohirrim and the Men of Gondor, such as Dunharrow and Helm's Deep. The Paths of the Dead went through the Ered Nimrais. It's main peaks were the Dwimorberg, Mindolluin, Starkhorn, the Thrihyrne and the peaks of the northern beacon-towers of Gondor. Called the White Mountains in Westron.

Green Hills: See Pinnath Gelin.

Halifirien: Located in the Firien Wood on the border of Rohan, this hill formed the seventh and last of the northern beacon-tower hills of Gondor.

Hill of Erech: See Erech.

Hill of Guard: The easternmost spur of the Mindolluin. It was joined to the main part of the mountain by a narrow ridge. Minas Tirith was built on this massive Hill.

Hill of Hearing: See Amon Lhaw.

Hill of Sight: See Amon Hen.

Hill of the Eye: See Amon Hen.

Forests

Druadan Forest: Located in An�rien, thirty miles north-west of Minas Tirith, this forest was the home of the Wild Men of the Woods. After the WR the forest was given to them by King Elessar, in return for aiding the Rohirrim. He forbade anyone to enter the forest without their permission.

Firien Wood: Also known as Firienwood. This was an oak-wood at the foot of the Ered Nimrais, on the border between Gondor and Rohan. Halifirien was located in this wood.

Grey Wood: Also known as Greywood. Thickets located east of Amon D�n in An�rien. It may have been part of Druadan Forest.

Calenhad: The sixth of Gondor's beacon-tower hills in the north.

Causeway: A walled road, which led from Minas Tirith to Osgiliath.

Closed Door: See Fen Hollen.

Court of the Fountain: .

Crossings of Erui: A ford across the river Erui, located in Lebennin. During the Kin-strife this was the site of one of the greater battles.

Crossings of Poros: A ford across the river Poros on the Harad Road. In TA 2885 this was the site of a major victory over the Haradrim by Gondor.

Curtain: See the Window-curtain.

Eilenach: The second of Gondor's beacon-tower hills in the north. It was located in the Druadan Forest.

Entwash Vale: ZIE ROHAN!!.

Erelas: The fourth of Gondor's beacon-tower hills in the north.

Ethir Anduin: This was the delta of the river Anduin, located in the south of Gondor. Called the Mouths of Anduin in Westron.

Ethring: Located on the road from Erech to Pelargir, this was either some fords or a town on the river Ringl�.

Haudh in Gwan�r: Located near the Crossings of Poros, this was the mound in which Fastred and Folcred, Princes of Rohan, were buried after they fell in battle with the Haradrim at the Crossings.

Calembel: A town in Lamedon, located near the river Ciril.

Citadel of the Stars: See Osgiliath.

City, The: See Minas Tirith.

Dol Amroth: Meaning 'hill of Amroth' in Sindarin. A castle and port. It was the chief city of Belfalas.

Edhellond: Meaning 'elf-haven' in Sindarin. The harbour from which the southern white ships of the Eldar sailed to Aman. It was located either at Dol Amroth or at the mouth of the Morthond-Ringl�.

Harlond: The port of Minas Tirith. It consisted of a harbour and quays and was located about three or four miles south of the city, on the west side of the Anduin. It was within the Rammas Echor. HARLOND&EDHELLOND ZIJN havens. OOK ONDER CITIES OF ONDER LANDMARKS??.

Linhir: Located in Lebennin above the mouth of the Gilrain. During the WR, a battle between the men of Lamedon and the Corsairs of Umbar was fought here, which ended upon the approach of the Dead Men of Dunharrow.

Causeway Forts: .

Citadel: The seventh level of Minas Tirith. It contained the Tower of Ecthelion and the Place of the Fountain. It was also called the High City.

Dome of Stars: .

Great Hall: .

High City: See the Citadel (=building???????????).

High Court: A court located in the Citadel. (Not the Court of the Fountain).

House of the Kings: Building located in the Hallows. The Kings of Gondor were buried here.

House of the Stewards: Building located in the Hallows. The Stewards of Gondor were buried here. Denethor II burnt himself in the House during the WR. It was destroyed by the fire.

Houses of Healing: .

Isengard: (?; het gebouw zelf. of deze onder ISENGARD zelf pas vermelden?).

King's House: The royal palace of Gondor. It was originally in Osgiliath but in TA 1640 King Tarondor moved it to Minas Anor.
